A while back I bought a '87 Schwinn Paramount very cheap. It is a pristine frame that looks new, unfortunately it is the Wild Orchid color. lol
my options:
1. Don't worry about having your man card pulled, build it and ride it as is (They're only original once).
2. I always love pictures of Orange Paramounts, send it back to Waterford and have them repaint it.
3. I had also considered and someone on the Forum suggested the 88-89 Team Wheaties colors....so send it to Joe Bell for a Wheaties recreation.
Thanks for any replies or suggestions.

I'd go with the first option. Pink bikes are cool. Especially with white saddles and bar tape. I was riding a Trek 760 in that sort of getup, actually a hot pink, in the 80's, my man card stayed in good standing but maybe riding a pink bike was offset by being a submarine officer at the time .
If you don't want to go with 1, consider selling it to me, looks like my size, and buy one in some other color...

Looks familiar. And my wife doesn't doesn't like the color either.
But given the condition of the paint on your frame it would be a waste to repaint. You would be better off trading it away for one that you do like. At least that would be my guess.

That paint looks to be in good condition. #1 option- build it and sell it to someone that likes that color.
Or, if you want to ride it, option #2- obtain correct decal set, lightly sand and primer then shoot it another factory color.

+1000 to all of the above. One of the cool and distinctive things about C&V bikes is the bright and colorful paint jobs. Think of it like a Candy Car.
BTW, come up with a sexier name for the color. For example, when my wife would call my Miami Vice Ironman "pink," I explained that she was wrong. It was fuchia.

RFC...Waterford calls it Wild Orchid. lol I have a couple of old Mopars and one is a 1970 Dart Swinger 340 that is GoMango Orange. They also had a color called Panther Pink by Plymouth and Dodge called the same color Moulon Rouge. I'll have to think up a cool name for the color.

Look at it this way. You can ride it and really enjoy it, the color will always "be there."
If you're single, that color tells women that you're either a confident, self assured male...
or....
just kidding. I'm considering a pink Fuji Tiara here...
