Recent find (w questions): 1978 Fuji S12-S LTD
I recently acquired this Fuji S12-S LTD. I am not certain about the year, but I think I'm close. I am currently in the process of rebuilding and restoring it.
It does not have the original front forks: it has an aluminum after market fork, which actually looks fine. But I would love to have an original front fork if anyone has one to sell. The bike is black, and based upon the chrome on the rear drop-outs, I suspect that the front fork tips were chrome, as well.
Please contact me if you have a pair to sell. and if you have any information about this bike, please fell free to chip in.

Actually, the whole fork is chromed-at least the fork on my'77 S-10S is. as are the seatstays and chainstays, all the way to the bridges. They're not the lightest or the flashiest, but they're darn good rides. Here's mine set up for northwest commuting:

Very nice! Now I want to replace the front fork even worse! Would you like to sell yours? LOL. And that looks like a Brooks saddle....I just put a B-17 on mine and I'm cleaning the whole bike up. I have had several people tell me not to ride it with the aluminum fork due to the risk of catastrophic failure. It wasn't hard to convine me! I just don't know where to find an adequate and nice looking steel replacement fork. thanks for posting!

Fortunately for you it's black. I would just look for a good black, lugged, chromed steel fork without many graphics.
