Thanks! Yes, TC Williams is from "Remember the Titans." I've probably seen that movie 20 times... it's the school's go- to post- testing movie, and they play it about 3 times a day at the end of the year after our finals. Thanks for fixing the pics and welcoming me! I'm excited to be a member of the forums!

I found your story very interesting and inspiring. You seem to be certainly well prepared for road riding. You must have received some excellent lessons and experience in the "weeds".
I appreciated your experience about single-speed (as opposed to fixed gear). I was inspired to build an SS bike for the same reason — because I found myself more often than not on the same cog on the same chain-wheel. It is my favourite bike to ride. But, because of the fierce winds that can blow out of Mongolia and Siberian into Northern Japan where I live, I have to keep bikes with various gearing. I've got stuck into headwinds with my SS bike, and it was just torture to grind my way home.
Welcome to BF. I might suggest our "Classic Vintage" division. Participants have eclectic interests, but it is usually about a glance back into the past. Some of us ... WAY into the past! You have to admire their dedication ... well I do. Your Shogun would be a ripe member. — Lorne/Lenton58.

Lucky man! Three angels, and they are growing up right with 'papa'. Very heartwarming — thanks for the post! And ... aww ... yes, I was a house-papa a long time ago. Loved it!

Classic bike scene can be a little different over here in the UK and not always on 2 wheels . Here I am with my '55 Holdsworth Trike just riding up to the summit of Mont Ventoux. I rode the beast 1000 miles from London to Nice!
Looking forward to riding the L' Eroica Britannia again in June - Alan

Matt, It was a great weekend and thanks again for your wonderful pictures. I am not sure how you got some of those shots, but they are really nice. I enjoyed talking and riding with you and Rich . I don't know how you were able to take off like that , man you were gone!! I am already ready for the next one. Been looking for hills to build strength. Keep riding and I would look forward to meeting up with you again. Joe

Still learning
Looking good, but it looks cold Dave! It was T shirt riding weather here today, only about the 5th day for such in 2016.
