We have a "what are you grateful for?" Thread going but I'll post mine here.
I'm grateful for all you young(er) riders whose pictures I get to see here. It gives me joy to see riders who weren't even born yet when many of these bikes were new taking an interest in these old bikes!

I am based in Frankfurt, Germany and collect vintage steel race bikes for approx. 10 years to date. I am german, so pls excuse my english ;-). I have been cycling competetively since I was 14, got in the wake of the MTB boom and gave up on road racing for MTB cross country racing. These days I am only riding for pleasure, a mere 4 - 6K miles per year.
The pictured bike is a 1979 Masi Prestige from Milan, Italy which has got an upgrade in 1985 by Alberto Masi: inner cable routing and a new paint. I bought the frame from the first owner about one year ago and put in approx. 1.5K miles since then. It was then built with a Shimano 105
and I've rebuilt it from scratch mostly with Campy Super Record from ca 84/85. The pic was made the day before I raced the l'Eroica, a vintage bike race in Chianty, Italy where most of the route is white gravel roads. As beautiful as ist sounds
.Got a couple more bikes which I'l gladly show in the future.

Wow, what a warm welcome, Sir!
I am a regular at the german equivalent of this forum called rennrad-news.de. I am from Germany (so pls excuse my english) and I collect vintage bike for more than 10 years now. The bike on the picture above is a Masi Prestige from '79. It got an upgrade from Alberto Masi in Milan in '85 where the first owner had inner cable routing added and got it repainted in a beautiful pearlescent blue. I bought the frame from the first owner about one year ago and rebuilt it from scratch mostly with Campy Super Record ca '84/'85. Since then I've put in approx. 1.5k Miles wich is about a fifth of my yearly milage on vintage race bikes. Love the ride. It's nimble but very accurate in corners and stable even on fast downhills >=45 mph. What I like about the bike especially is that it is a real race bike with almost no chrome or fancy stuff. Just a plain riding machine.
Some pics from the build: (maybe someone with better abilities can turn these, they appear correct in my library!?)

That is a beautiful Masi there, yours must be an Italian built model. Having Alberto Masi work on it speaks well for that bike. Ridind the Strade Bianche in l’Eroica must be thrilling.

@Axxl70 - Welcome and beautiful bike (and Campy toolset)! That’s the way those Italian racers are supposed to be ridden! Question regarding your Eroica experience: Did you ride that set up on the Strada Bianca? American gravel roads are usually pretty large, coarse rocks, but from what little I know, I think the gravel in Tuscany should be finer. One day when I ride this, I’d like to do it on some 25c Gatorskins.
