Classic and Vintage from Lincolnshire Wolds - England.
Hi everyone,
a while since I've posted, but this forum is great and whilst I don't currently have an image of myslef to post here's a few of my bicycles, firstly my 1984 Raleigh Corsa, Reynolds 501 tubeset and Shimano 600 (1st gen' SIS) groupset. I bought this bicycle new and it is totally original and very nice in it's 1984 only Oyster (pearl white paint).
The second is my 1951 Hobbs of Barbican, fillet brazed construction and restored in the 1980s, bought new by my Wife's Father for a tour of the Loire Valley in 1953.
Finally - for now - my 1988 Specialized Stumpjumper, repainted orange in 1992 by Chas Roberts and restored with NoS Deore and Deore XT components. I bought this new in 1988.
I ride all these bicycles regularly and the Hobbs was ridden in the Loire Valley in 2013 to celebrate Peter's (Wife's Dad) tour 60 years earlier.
I am currently restoring super rare Bill Philbrook touring bicycle, fillet barazed construction with some unusual features.

My latest project: a 1987 Peugeot Orient Express. This single-speed conversion was supposed to be a knockaround / lockup bike. But every time I come home from work, this is the bike I select for my evening ride. I think maybe it is the simplicity that I find fascinating - just like the bikes I rode as a kid.

They are a lot of fun: Going downhill it sounds like a Stuka dive bomber on an attack run. And the grip is off-the-charts. Too bad they are so heavy... over 800g apiece. You can really feel that when you accelerate from a stop. That's what you get when you cover the entire carcass with treads.

Me and the (tad too big) Schwinn. I can clear the frame though (barely) and it rides so nicely that I couldnt part with it. I will say it looks way bigger in this picture considering I am bending down.

Here on the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia. The Brushy Mountain Tunnel which is 700 foot long. Just one of the nice sites to see on this great trail.
