miele gara road issue

this is my new to me 1988 miele gara road issue. it came stock (i assume) with a full shimano 600 group. mavic ma40 hubs, seven speed regia freewheel, cinelli bars, cinelli stem, and a neon yellow turbo with matching brake cables. ive since stripped all that stuff off and upgraded it to ten speed ultegra and dura ace.

anyway, im having a bit of a hard time finding info about the miele brand, and i cant find any info on this model. could anyone shed some light?

Finding info on the model will probably have to come from T-Mar or someone else with a great knowledge of Canadian manufactured bikes. Miele is originally from Mississauga which is a city of about 700 000 just West of Toronto. There is a bit more info on this wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miele_bicycles

It has been my good fortune to have owned a few Miele road bicycles, including this special issue model mid eighties Miele LTD. I call it an LTD because it is a limited issue model and mine has a two diget serial number. It offers a great ride, I might add.

Your Gara is near top of the line and should be made of Columbus SLX with Campy drops. A nice bike, to say the least. If you take the time to visit the article I wrote on my Miele, you will learn a bit of the history of the company also. Hope this is a help.
