my first rebuild

So i picked up an older Schwinn sports tourer it may not be a classic, it was in pretty good shape. According to the owner it had sat out side his house since 1994 i didnt "restore" it. I bought if for my G/F and just asked her what she wanted it to look like and this is how it turned out every thing was rusted together but the only thing i wasnt able to keep was the chain and pedals i think it turned out pretty good and she loves it so i guess thats all that matters. Im also not sure of the year was it the 80s that everything said schiwnn approved?

Bikes: Upright and Recumbent....too many to list, mostly Vintage.

Nice work!

clean and stylish.

"Schwinn Approved" stamping on parts goes back at least to the 60's thru the early 80's.

Is that spray paint or powder coat? Either way it looks pretty good.

Nice job!

Looks like an early 80s World Tourist maybe. Does she like it?

Your avatar is scary, dude.

Nice job!

If it was originally black and red, it was an early 1980s Sports Tourer.

Nice work! I hope you guys get lots of cool vintage cruising together. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm actually doing the exact same thing with an old 60s Murray frame for my g/f and a 53 Schwinn for myself. Vintage 3 speed bike rides seem like a great way to spend some quality time and get exercise.

What's a "bomb" can? That's some of the best results I've seen outside of a spraybooth, and would like to replicate it.

yeah its just a rattle can most paint stores will put any of their paints into one for you, its better quality than "over the counter" spray paint its got a lot of bad spots in it if you get close it was like 105 degrees the day i painted it then later that night it rained so it took like three days to cure all the way and i had to transfer it inside while it was still a little tacky. But so long as the misses is happy im happy
