Wanna trade stems? My long for your short.

Well all my parts are rolling in for my Raleigh Sports upgrades. I had planned on using an SR alloy stem from my parts bin, but it's longer than I want. I believe it's 100-120mm. I would like a very short stem for the Sports, 60mm or less ideally. I'm not sure how long the stock Sports stem is, but there is barely any extension at all.

Anybody want to trade? I would pay all shipping costs.

if its on a sports does an alloy one really matter?

How about a Wald stem? They have like no reach and a little rise.

yes. I'm replacing a number of components with alloy to lighten the bike up.

I may have what you're looking for. I was going through my stems last night, and I have several in the 60-90mm range - I'd have to check tonight. PM me... Phil G.

I use a couple kalloy stems and they aren't too bad at all.

yeah, i have a kalloy stem on my Technium and it's perfectly fine. However, with shipping that would be $16. I'd rather trade somebody, pay a few dollars in shipping and get rid of a stem I won't use.

You know it is tempting to trade, but it is so much harder to find a 65 then a 100-110. I have about 10 long for every short.

Heck, I wouldn't buy that either, just pointing to a picture, and a name.

Really? I've got a pile of 60mm Japanese stems, and maybe one that is 100mm. You can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a 60mm stem.

Haha. If there's one thing I've learned from the C&V forum, it's that different areas of the country can be WAY different. Certain bikes or types of bikes or parts etc... that are rare and coveted in one market are thrown out in another because they are too common.

Probably need to make sure of the size. You're buying some alloy "North" style bars, right? Probably need a stem for 25.4 mm bars. Don't want to be shipping 26.0 mm stems around.
