Someone Should Start A 'GD' Hood Compatibility Chart
I, for one, am really getting sick and tired of spending all my money on vintage parts just to come down to trying to find compatible brake lever hoods for less than the cost of a used Brooks saddle. I only do this as a hobby to relieve stress, Grrrrrrrrrr. I can't imagine how those of you who do this for a living deal with the frustration. It seems like, with the resource this forum offers, there would be some way to start compiling a list of levers and what hoods will work, possibly with some modification, on them. Maybe start a Sticky.
Thank you for allowing me to vent, you can go about whatever it was you were doing now.

I totally feel your frustrations as I am tired of hunting for hoods. I have purchased them just to find out they do not fit. I no long replace them, I just wrap the bars without.

Pick 1 or 2:
1. stick with the 2 vintage types for which hoods are commonly available
a) Campagnolo SR/NR, Suntour Superbe, Modolo, and some others (late Mafac and Weinmann) that take the “Campy” hoods
b) Weinmann, Dia-Compe (early, for centerpulls) and others that take the Weinmann hoods still in production by Cane Creek.
2. Sure, get your exotic brake levers that were made for one or two years, with hoods that were like nothing else and are now rotted -- but don't complain about it when you can't find replacements.
When shopping for brake levers, the first question in your mind should be: what do I do when the hoods are shot?

Anyone have a good source for the NR/Sr Campy style hoods or for Diacompe Aero style?

My bikes became Vintage
Loose Screws has various hoods at economical prices. If you want really nice Campag NR reproduction hoods that will outlast the original gum rubber hoods, contact Robbie Fellows at Rnitro1969@aol.com He also makes some for other vintage brakes. However, he may be moving on to other projects and these might not be available forever.

I was checking those out. They have a hole at the top. Mine are aero levers from 92, so I am not sure if they would be the same.
This might work:
