Faggin - fix up for him, part out or try to get it?

Coworker asked how much I'd charge to redo this whole thing for his teen. I couldn't htink of a price for the life of me. Never thought of may labor costs.

He'd need wheels to bring it back to life along with a grip of other small stuff.

I initially suggested he part it out and use the money as seed money for a simple bike. I'm wondering if maybe I should see about getting it myself to keep as a small project flip or even as a frame for me. I seldom see good 54cmx54cm frames (my size).

No tube type logos, rust, flaking paint, small flat dent on top tube seat lug, full campy components, not sure of model.

Part out. Have him sell you what has survived of the Victory group + the Giro bars, then have him eBay the frame hulk.

He'll wind up spending more to fix that than it would take him to buy a nice machine off C-list.

What do you think is a fair price for the lot? A little research says it's not an expensive groupset and the frame is beat. Hmm. I could use it somehow but it's no gem.

That you'll have to judge by what the fellow who owns it now thinks it's worth.

+1
If you have a local powder coater who can do a decent job on the cheap that's an option I suppose.

I'll see what he wants to do with it. I'm thinking I may sell the groupset for him to get some seed money.
