Non destructive venting

Hi All, Well, here I am semi bound to the house for the day and figured it would be great to spend a little quality time on my rat rod 3.0 build.

My rant is... after spending a couple of days to repair the left hand 600 brifter (if I knew beforehand what was involved I may've never started) I discover that the right hand brifter is locked up, but it was perfect a few days ago!

If I can't repair it here are my options using mostly junk on hand:
a) Suntour GPX brake levers, gray w/white hoods, the gray semi matches the rest of the 600 group and the white goes with the Mystic blue w/white decals.
b) Ultegra 3X9 brifters and pick up a new 9S cassette (I understand that the triple FD shifter works with a double)... I could also install a octalink Ultegra crankset for some generational continuity
c) Forum suggestions
d) Partial swap involving the 2.8... 105 brake levers/DT shifters and put the Ultegra brifters on the 2.8

Brad
