came across this one for sale locally. may be a bit of a beater, but a nice patina and the colour is pretty sweet. if it prices right (low low low, it'll need some work) i'm thinking of grabbing it, but don't know anything about Fellini. It's an early to mid 70s frame apparently. anybody able to shed some light?

is that still on trade me?i googled Fellini but couldn't find much about it - it's definately Italian sounding though and was raced so it must be pretty good!

yeah it is. has it been up before? it's in the waikato which makes me think twice about bothering though... i found one mention on an aussie site that mentioned they were italian, and from the 70s and 80s. so a real goldmine of info there!!

yep. but unless he was making bikes and or spectacles in his spare time, this might very well be another mystery frame brand. wish it was close enough to visit and inspect.

I know nothing about Fellini frames, but please post additional pictures with more detail. It looks like a Campy Crank, and if there are other Campy bits, it may be worth the purchase price regardless of what the frame is. Also, Campy parts come with date codes, so that can help narrow down a suspected date if you believe the parts to be original. And, judging from the components, it looks a lot more like it is from the 80's than 70's.

Also, it looks like the rear brake cable is taped on. If the cable guides have been drew'd (hacked off), it's obviously less desirable. If it never had cable guides to begin with, it may indicate a 70's frame as you originally suspected.

If it's anything like his movies, it will be an unusual bike, indeed.

i don't think i'll get a chance to take a closer look, might just have to hope for the best! unfortunately it's had the original components taken off it and replaced with RSX. i think it probably was well set up, and those components went to another bike. it was ridden in a 1974 race, so that points to a date-ish of around the early 70s, but i'm sure it was ridden and up/down/side-graded in the years since. A bit of rust on the top tube apparently. planning to request better pics. looking to build a pretty cheap bike out of it ideally though, so don't want to buy into any trouble!
