AlAn Frame?
I am getting a Guerciotti-AlAn frame. I know the seatpost diameter is an unusual 25.0 mm, but does anyone know what the seatpost bolt size is? Is it a Campy 8 or 10mm? Thanks.

I reckon the thread size is 8mm dia. I just had the vernier calliper out and tried to measure the thread between the 2 seat lug bosses.

Hi lagrassa, the seatpost is 25mm dia. They are constantly available on ebay (but you probably know that already).
My frame came with, what looks like, an integrated seatpost binder bolt but I'm sure a Campy binder bolt would be perfect. Here is my bike:

Very nice! I see you have it built with Super Record, and with drilled chainrings. Since I already have two bikes built with SR, I am going to go with C-Record with Delta brakes, just to be different.
I am assuming that the front dérailleur is the normal size clamp-on type?
BTW, how does it ride?
Regards,
Michael.

The front derailleur has the normal sized clamp. C-record would look brilliant. By the way, the ride is unlike the modern aluminium frames as it is quite comfortable. Its weight is only slightly lighter that a steel bike of a similar vintage due to the thickness of the tube walls. I have heard that the tube/lug bonding can come loose but I have not found this. I'm about 210 lbs and commuted on this bike for about 1 year no country roads with no dramas.

Thanks, Gary. I have a more modern, traditional aluminum Colnago and it rides well, not overly harsh, but not as smooth of course as my Litespeed Classic Ti bike. I am fairly light and mostly ride smooth roads, so I don't expect any issues with the bonding.

I also have an aluminium Colnago that I enjoy riding. I thought it would be a bit too harsh but I was pleasantly surprised but it is different to the ALAN. I must say though that a Lightspeed Classic TI has been at the top of my wish list for quite some time. To me a Lightspeed represents the ultimate in bikes.
Good luck with the ALAN,
Gary.
