I had a really good avatar of a vintage Nishiki catalog a year or so ago. Then BF crashed and it was wiped out. I couldn't find the pic I used so I went without. Then I found an on line pic of a brifter and just stuck it in there until I can get a good avatar. I could say that it's meaning is I prefer brifters over downtube or bar ends, which is true. But that's not why it's my avatar. I just wanted something and it was handy. Consider it a place holder until I can get a better pic reduced.
OK, Fixed.

If you can't tell it's Charlie Brown, you either need glasses, or a pop-culture lesson...
Anyway, his pose seems to fit my current mentality quite well...I'll keep it!

I chose a phoenix in memorial to SB. I didn't even know who he was until this summer, but I have still learned so much from his articles and essays and his legacy is an inspiration.

I finally added one myself.
Choose a cool pic.
Put it on your desktop.
Go to settings, and then edit avatar.
Select your cool pic from "your" computer. I think open is the correct keystroke.
That's pretty much it.

Mine is a "squared quarter" an art coin made by the artist Andor Orand. I own one in real life, and it is one of my favorite coins. They were made in 2 sized and I own the larger size. I think there were something like 200 of them made. They are fairly rare, but unfortunately not all that valuable. It has been my avatar as long as I have had an avatar.

My avatar is a pic of a BMW 2002 tii.
The pic I am using is pilfered from the net, because our BMW 2002 looks like somebody rolled a hand grenade underneath her at the moment.
Ours will look like this avatar pic someday, as soon as I sell a bike or two, so I can pic up the tranny for her in Sioux Falls.
We'll be able to put her right after this step, as the body is in fantastic condition.
My dream is for the boys to drive her before they are off to college.
If I'd stop making inane posts on the internet, I would have a fighting chance.
