Haha, do you really want them? If so, let me know (Khatfull has dibs on the best pair) and I'll send you what I have. I've got a couple pair of the classic chrome ones with at least one OK pair of Christophe straps, if Khatful wants the nicer pair. Otherwise add one more to that. I think I've got a pair of plastic ones too.

I was just kidding but thank you for your kind offer. Unfortunately, most clips are too small for my big feet (as are most cycling shoes). I already have a set of XXL clips for every bike I own.

I bought a bike that had Mongoose BMX pedals with plastic clips and nylon straps. I was skeptical about clips and straps and I was skeptical about the BMX pedals. I've found that I really like clips and straps. I'm sure this is just a step closer to going clipless.

Steel clips and leather straps, easy in and out.

My secret plan was to replace the BMX pedals with something a little more "classy." This summer I got a bike with SR pedals with Lapize metal clips and straps. I have great difficulty getting them flipped around and getting my shoes into them. After a bit, I realized that the guy who put the BMX pedals on put them on for a reason- not just to put BMX pedals on the bike- they flip over quite well and they're easy to control on the flip, and the plastic clips have a much wider "mouth" to get your foot in.

I don't think I'll be putting BMX pedals on the 1984 Trek 420- but I probably will try the old ATB style platforms with clips on there...

3speed, I call sloppy seconds on any clips/straps that are too ratty for Khatfull or Mike to take. I'll pay postage, PM me if there's anything left.

I run toeclips on both of the "go fast" bikes, and the fixed gear. Haven't seen a need to change to clipless. My only complaint is that if you ride for a fairly long time, the clips and straps start wearing into your shoes. Not appreciably, but enough so that you notice it.

I wear a size 16 mens and use the plastic toe in clips with straps (Just some old shoelaces). I haven't had any problem with fitting into them and actually find them quite comfortable but I do have a semi-related problem; I get massive foot cramps because I end up getting less than half of my foot on the actual pedal so I'm mainly putting pressure on the balls of my feet. After a decent ride it feels like I've been walking on my tippie-toes for hours...

Anybody else have this problem?

I had that problem for years, trying to put my wide feet on narrow quill pedals. It wasn't until I went to platform pedals or MKS touring pedals and the like and could avoid those pressure points (whether using toe clips or not) that I stopped having hot-spot foot pain during and after a ride.

Old's'cool, I guess Mike and Khatful both have freakishly large feet (:P), so they're yours if you want them. I've got a few pair of clips and a couple straps. Don't suppose you have a Miyata?

There are pedals, and then there are pedals...

Barelli B-10 touring pedals.

I happen to like PowerGrips, but cannot use them on these. I'll be putting clips & straps with these on my Hetchins build.

I have never felt bearings as smooth as these. Ever.

I saw those Barellis on ebay. I like the looks of them. I don't think I've ever seen them in the flesh, or steel, I guess.

and put them on my fixed gear. I much prefer them over the track pedals as I ride in running shoes.

True, but I have fabricated a plate and bolt with an acorn nut facing back that approximates the Campagnolo patented "tooth"

The plastic toe clips with the divided strap loop yoke is a good idea if the traditional one digs into your foot. Long ago someone made the same basic design in steel too. A Japanese mfg might still, I think I have see them while surfing around.
