sombike's first video

We're doing videos with profiles on individuals. This is our first.

I know I should be posting about sombike in the A&S section of bikeforums, but I'm not familiar there yet. And you know what I'm up to, right? sombike exists to promote bike riding and to promote a bike friendly community. We currently are focused on Maplewood and South Orange, NJ, which are two sister towns, adjacent to each other. The two towns used to be one, and we still share a combined school district, so we are, in most ways, a single community.

Nick is the NJ state champion in BMX racing and a great kid. He is on our planning board and our link to the high school.

Here's the video: https://maplewood.patch.com/announcem...bike-stories#c

Never mind. We're going to change the video before sending it out to the world. I'll let yooze know when it's ready.

Good idea, Zaphod, though sombike is hyper-local.

This summer, we're seeing if we can teach a course to kids on fixing bikes. This will be part of the many courses offered in the local day camp. I am super-psyched at the idea of teaching mechanics to middle and high schoolers!

OK, we've revised the video and made it public.

Valid point, esp. since he refers to "flying down the hills."

I agree, the production quality is high, and he seems like a nice kid. I'd just like to know he's staying whole.

The videographer is a professional. Our little coalition is oozing with all kinds of skills and talents.

This was the second edition of the video. The first one had footage of Nick riding without a helmet on. Then we decided to change it before releasing it. I didn't notice the brakelessness!
