Personally, I'm thinking a matching Arabesque RD with a red derailleur housing loop. Or RD's main painted panel left black and the little accents done in red. I probably also would have done the crank arm flute in black with the spider arm flutes in red... and this is why I'm never quite finished with a bike .

paint filling is really fun and gratifying. here is some of the fill i've done using enamel paint pens and either steel wool to remove the excess (after drying) or a rag with mineral spirits (before drying):
