IIRC, the Regina derailleurs were re-badged Ofmega or Rino components.

My sources say they are rebadged Sachs parts. Though it's possible they came from multiple sources, or that the Sachs parts were in fact rebadges of someone else, or vise-versa.

Even more rare than the America 1992 RD, there was a 'Strada' and and 'Enduro' 1992 by Regina.

(not much to look at, so I'll spare you the Strada, they America is certainly the best of the lot)

Nice, Kpug. Don't think I've seen a pink Ofmega before.

It takes a brave man indeed to put on a pink derailleur on their classic bike these days, so the pink one's the one to have if you want to start collecting Ofmega derailleurs!:thumb:

I always liked the original Suntour Superbe. I have a fairly nice one here. They are very small.

Precision Billet ProShift. It's a mid cage and a very neat piece of kit. You can fully disassemble it for service or swapping cages. Made in the good ol' USofA! It will supposedly index to Shimano although I have yet (or likely never will) try it.

I've got the matching front as well...Still looking for the shifters! There is a set in a display case in Seattle but I always miss the owner. I also have the blue version as well as several blacks.

Okay, while I'm asking for clarification: I've seen this model a number of times, but can't find it in either the www.disraeligears.co.uk site NOR in the VeloBase listings.

Is this the last of the Duopars? I sure looks great. Was/Is it a great performer, or yeoman-like?

And what's the going price on these, when found?

Thanks.

Wow. I never even thought about and realized that there were such great derailleurs out there. I've only ever had rather plain ones and only ever thought of them as such. ...Which means once again I'm going to end up spending money I don't have on my bike, and blame it all on you guys. :P

Sooo... Anyone know of any decent performing RDs compatible with Shimano 600 8sp set-up that are cool/exotic looking?

This is a derailleur that seldom gets mentioned, but has come to be a favorite of mine: The Huret Challenger.

Suntour had some of the best looking RDs in my opinion. I sold it, but I had a 1974 Bridgestone with a VGT-Luxe RD that was gorgeous, NOS condition. Not a scratch on it. Hated to part with it, but the bike had to go.

Was eyeballing this Ofmega at the lbs until it sold.

Ask and ye shall receive (sort of), this is the only shot I have close to your request and the bike is in storage for the winter.

I took this the day I picked up the bike.

I have heard that the Regina America 1992 parts were SIS/STI compatible, but have never confirmed that rumor with confirmation from anyone who has tried it themselves. With an alternate cable routing, I believe that the Dura-Ace 7400 series should work as well and would be a bit more bling than the 600 part. If you're looking way out there such as the CNC made part - I'm going to have to defer to someone else's expertise on that.

cuda2k 12-09-10 09:54 PM

For reference, Sachs the brother of the Regina 1992 part:

And some serious colorful bling:

And lastly, a rather nicely composed photo of an early 80's era Dura-Ace part:
