SR Semi Pro
I've been restoring an SR Semi Pro for a coworker and thought I'd post a few pictures. It's not quite done yet but it will be shortly. This SR is probably an '83, and from pictures we believe that the SR frames were made by Centurion. It has Suntour dropouts and the best feature is the complete Shimano 600 Arabesque groupset. The only two items not Shimano Arabesque are the headset and cranks.
The first pic is of the Harloquin wrap I did on the handlebars using Benotto tape.

Araya rims, 27" x 1" drilled for schrader valve. Quite a rare setup, usually the wheels are wider and drilled for presta. The wheels were rebuilt locally with new stainless spokes and nipples. Hubs are Shimano

Very good looking so far, my experiences with these SR frames have always been good.
I even trust them enough to build up as a bike my sister is riding.
The build quality and finish is top notch for the price they sold for back in the day.

Centurion did not manufacturer bicycles. It was a bicycle brand owned by Western State Imports who had the bicycles contract manufactured by at least a dozen different Asian manufacturers.
While I have only a handful of SR serial numbers in my database, SR also appears to have been a contract manufactured brand. If you post the serial number, I may be able to tell you the manufacturer and exact date.

I'll get a picture of the serial number tonight. The serial closely resembles the description on Sheldon Brown's site regarding the Centurion serial number convention. The SR starts with a M instead of N, is followed by a number, then a letter, then 5 numbers. The trailing 5 digit number is different than the Centurions who have only have 4. Even the font of the serial number looks like the Centurion. Either way, I assume it came out of the same factory that the Centurion's came out of. Perhaps they were all made by Shogun? The bikes looks a lot like a shogun also.

Also, here's the finished product. Pic is a little dark as it was almost night.

I have been riding one of these SR Semi Pros for a year or so. It's a great bike.
T-Mar: can you tell us anything about Miki? I don't know much about these bikes, but I am curious.
I recall reading in a different thread here on BF that the owner's manual which came with these bikes instructed the owner to "see your authorized Shogun dealer for service and replacement."
I emailed back and forth briefly with the owner of the Yellow Jersey site, and his take was that the SR frames were from Osaka. I have no idea how one would see this, but I gather he knows.
Here's a few pics of the one I have. The serial number is M3E36508.
