Have fork question What does forcella originalia designate? recently perchased bike with repainted seat tube with correct Tenax sticker and repainted fork with forcella originalla sticker .Factry spec is tange. Bewildered

Forcella originale refers to Columbus' at one time unique fork blade profile, often referred to as "continental oval" and since widely copied by other manufacturers.

Goes without saying this is for framesets with headsets.
Both bikes look better now but the frames are the same.
Components have been upgraded a bit on both.

56 cm Schwinn Paramount OS Series 2, red in good shape, no rust.
56cm Schwinn Paramount OS Series 7-650c (with wheels). minor rust has been handled. with wheeset.





Looking:
56cm Ironman, '85-'87 in good shape. no rust.

'85 in any color.
'86 in red/white.
'87 Expert in red/white or yellow/white or Miami Vice.
'87 Master, which I believe came only in green/white.

1984 Trek 520 49cm - Picked this up a year or so ago for my girlfriend, new cotton / shellac bar tape on it. All stock and in nice shape but it was missing the rear rack when I got it.

My girlfriend realized it was too small for her (she rides a 54-56) and it is way too small for me (I ride a 58-60). So I'd like to trade for a bigger, similar bike (or frame, I can strip it down to the frame/fork/headset) around 58 or so. I'd like to avoid shipping, but we do road trips around neighboring states sometimes, so we could meet up somewhere if you're not too far.

Let me know if anybody's interested. Otherwise, I'll probably put it on craigslist soon because I'm running out of room for more bikes!

47cm 1985 Trek 600 (catalog lists frame as 49cm but I think the seat tube is 47cm ctt).

Reynolds 531cs frame and fork with nice investment cast lugs, full stock Shimano 600 group (except for the rear derailleur, which looks like it was replaced with a Deore DX at some point), nice 700c wheelset.

Picked it up recently, posted some more pictures and details in another thread. Similar to the 520, I'd happily trade (frameset or complete) for something around 58cm ctt. I don't need anything too sporty, more into touring / rando style stuff. Partial to Miyatas and Univegas. Also in the market for a nice (japanese?) mixte or a folding bike since it may take some time until I have my raleigh twenty built up.

GONE Trek 500 sport touring frameset. 57cm. Reynolds 501 tubing, investment cast lugs and dropouts. This frame has the neat rear derailleur cable routing thru the right chainstay. Lots of paint chips, but no rust, dents or dings.
Im looking for similar to fit either me (64/65 seat tube) or my wife (48-50 seat tube with 52/53 top tube).

And another: '84 Trek 660. 60 cm. 531 tubing. I'm the original owner of this bike but as I age (and lose flexibility), it no longer fits me (if it ever did). Hasn't been ridden in years; always been stored inside; in fabulous condition. This picture is a couple of years old - since then some of the components have been switched out (crank, handlebar, brake levers, tires) and no doubt a couple of paint chips added. Very little wear, very few chips, really nice paint. I'd be willing to trade bike or frameset. I'm especially looking for vintage Treks sport/touring geometry in a 25.5 size. If anyone's interested I can take some updated photos. Thanks.

I have this 1989 schwinn prelude frame I'm not using... This year came with competition geometry and a tange fork. The frame is columbus tenax. ST = 58cm c-t, TT = 56cm c-c. It was recently powdercoated. New reproduction tenax sticker, comes with the seatpost. Treated with frame saver.

Notes:

1.) It has a tange levin headset, the top nut thing isn't the tange one though because the fork is a bit too tall. I have the tange top nut, that could be installed and the spacers removed if you want to cut a few mm off the fork.

2.) Bottom bracket is some shimano one or something, it's in good shape.

3.) There is a mountain hardwear sticker on the front, you can take it off if you want

4.) One of the dropout adjuster screws is sheared off in the dropout because of the thick powdercoating, but it hasn't been an issue. I also had to scrape powdercoating out of the dropouts for the axles to fit, so a 130mm axle takes a small amount of finagling to get in there but nothing bad. Figured I'd mention it for full disclosure.

It's a really nice riding / handling frame (I rode it for ~500 miles last year) but it's my second tenax schwinn and I just want something different. I'd like to trade it for something in the same / close to the same size or even just sell it if someone has to have it.

That's one frame that's worth powdercoating! The original paint job was unattractive, making that bike a total sleeper, i.e. looks bad, rides great. It looks better than original. Someone is going to be really happy with that.

Yeah it will definitely make a nice bike for someone. It also has fender eyelets which are nice.

I have this 57cm by 56cm ctc Miele Latina it is Columbus SL I believe (Dove on steer tube and splined inside steerer) it is much more purple in person. unfortunately it is too tall for me what I am looking for is a 55cm ctc squared cyclo cross frame/fork. The Miele comes with frame and fork only. I will take more pictures of the frame and fork by themselves in the next couple days.
It is mostly excellent on the finish with a little rust patch under the back of the top tube by the seat cluster and a few scratches. No dents or crash damage. rear is 126mm.

Considering trading a '88 Miyata 1000 touring bike I recently obtained. The bike is in near new condition; however, the frame is slightly big for me as the picture shows. I believe it is a 60cm frame. All parts appear to be stock except for the seat. Would be willing to trade for a similar value bike in a smaller frame size (say 54-56cm).

I wish I could help you. That bike looks awfully nice.

Before you do anything, try a stem with a shorter extension. It might make the bike viable for you. There's nothing like a too-long extension to make a bike feel much too big. I recently did some experiments with that, and the differences were dramatic.

My boy who is 14 needs a bike. He is very athletic, but only just over 5' 3". I think the Trek 600 may be a fit. HAVE: a Trek 930 — a 94-95 — have to look it up. Over the years it has been upgraded (brakes, narrower Arya wheels on hi-pressure Pannys, saddle blah blah). I bought it new and it was ordered specifically for my size after being on a mock frame. I'm 5' 91/2. The trade would involve shipping (Japan) but by sea it may not be to bad.

^ Gotta agree with noglider. That bike doesn't look too big for you to ride, and it'll actually be really comfortable being a touring and on the larger end of what you can fit. A shorter stem might make it feel a lot better. I know I notice a big difference between a 90mm and 60mm because I have long legs but a shorter torso.
