"barn fresh" bikes. I sort of hate the cliche but old origional untouched bikes get me going, whether it's a curly Hetchins or a ladies Freespirit. if it's been in the attic for a generation or two and has the original tires, I dig it.
Though I don't really want them. I really only want riders. Usually the things that I like about untouched antiques are what need to be replaced to make them ridable. I really like to look, though.
Porn stars are the same way. I really like to look but it's impossible to have a stable relationship with one.

Fade

OMG I love this thread. Most people turn up their noses at my fetish. But if we all liked the same thing.......well you know it would really suck.
I Love Fade Paint! There I said it, and I'm glad its off my chest. Look down on me if you must but leave the fade paint frames for me. Always looking for 1988 Schwinns!

I found a fellow pedal fetishist with a nice collection of photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/1070387...th/5177580724/

Caption: Roger Piel Pedals - 50's

Edit: Just noticed the author of the album uses the username "spoke sniffer". Apropos, eh? If he owns all the items in his photo albums, then wow! https://www.flickr.com/photos/10703870@N06/sets/

Anything which is hand-carved, or hand-painted. This makes the bike a true one of a kind work of art. Also, anything chrome.

+1 on headbadges. While they're not really a huge fetish of mine, a nice one can keep me staring for a while.

I know a friend who's obsessed w/internal cable routing. Another friend is a big fan of proportional frames - i.e. 58 or so, since they tend to have a good piece of headtube showing. Good luglining and color schemes do it for me. Black/gold, yellow/baby blue/white, silver and red, red and white, etc etc etc. Oh, and maybe tubing decals. You know, ones that say SLX, SL, MAX, 531, True Temper OX/RC1, Tange 1, etc...

This thread is all sorts of euphemistic win.

Saddles - some day I'll get one with the huge hammered copper rivets.

Many things come in a relatively close 2nd place.

Great thread. I like well aged bike parts. The combination of use, oxidation and chemicals has an effect that seems to be unique with each part. The handlebar and stem on this Golden Arrow has subtle hues of brass, nickle and copper where layers have plating have worn away. It's stunning in my book.

That is one of those old fangled bars that the new ones want to be... if one did not find those curves to be attractive I'd think there was something wrong with you.

i like me some headsets, and i'm developing issues with rear derailers. I'm scared that ig-hubs will becoma a problem in the future.

1. Abnormally large frames. Partly because I usually ride a 61cm, and partly because I really like long headtubes for some reason.

2. Chrome bikes, polished bikes, and anything un-painted.

Cudak88 posted this in the Blatant Show Off Thread.

3. Front and rear fenders that aren't being used.

4. Polished, hammered fenders.

From Eco Velo:
