lol, we have the same taste then too...as i was planning on the same, Campag bits from roughly the same era (apart from nice, engraved Bianchi handlebars and a nice enamel paint job ( or maybe the nearest colour possible in a candy, pearlescent powder coat)
First though, is to get it media blasted and a replacement brake guide ring brazed on.

I was Hmmmm lets say sympathetic with the photos lol, its actually allot rougher than it looks! I rode it to the pub last week and both tires blew out quick succession as I had left it in direct sunlight! So its defiantly in need of a little TLC lol.

I'm not sure if i can just make out the faint remains there. If it were a flat stamp on the curved surface then that may be the reason. Only half of my "degree" note is visible and thats the reason i put it down to.
I'm actually thinking of stripping it again to weigh it as that seems the only thing we haven't done collectivelly.

Yeah why not! mine is nearly stripped, I'll finish stripping it and weigh it with nothing but the headset... I don't think it will tell us anything i'm just strangely curious lol... And massively geeky about stuff like that lol

Ross, i have found the answer to our question, it's a 1986 Bianchi Sprint 28c and there is a minter on ebay right now ! :D

So, now i can add to the database properly:

Hi there, I was wondering if any one could help me identify the model of this bike. The serial number is 0C08352 and it was listed as a 1970's model. Based off of the various models I have seen I think it might be a rekord or a sprint?

I will post my Electric Rose here for information. I believe the year of manufacture was 1985 or 1986. The LBS told me it was a Mondiale but there are no model decals on the top tube. Because the color made many Bianchi Celeste fanatics vomit and die they didn't sell very well and this frame sat in a box for twenty years. My serial numbers are unlike any I have seen so far. I was told by LBS that this was a Reparto Corse made frame. It has chrome Campagnolo dropouts front and rear and I was told the frame is chrome beneath the paint.

I own a Bianchi Sport SS, serial number DS496140, front fork decal MAGNY Ishiwata, set tube decal PIAGGIO, and Bianchi Superset decal. I know it was made in Japan, what I don't know is when. Can anyone shed on light on that?

it is a Rekord model from the mid-1970's. frame built with Agrati "AM" lugset nr. 000.8040/U, including bulge-formed head nr. 000.8046. crown is Agrati nr. 026.8058.

here is the catalogue page for the Rekord model of 1973, domestic Italian edition. there can be some small differences depending on to which continent a cycle is vectored. your example slightly later.

1st post.... after thief took my 1985 Bridgestone 50K plus miles.... I found this Bianchi on local CL and watched it for 3 weeks last winter.... Thought it was probably one of the 'out sourced' down line models...Yet,,,, it was 56cm frame...I am 5-8, perfect frame size.

Kept coming back to the listing, and researching here.....
Finally found some pics that matched the engraved seat stay "Bianchi" and fork engraved Logo,,,and mention of slight metal flake Celeste over chromed frame.....
Went to eyeball the bike......
All Campy Chorus, (no pedals), 7 speed, syncro shifting.... only thing missing was the mostly worn off Superleggera decal... Brooks Champion Special B-17 saddle.

Under $600, in very good shape for a bike that was a "rider"... judging by the wear, probably less than 5K miles. Sure some small scrapes and dings, but mostly pristine from 5 ft away.
I had a good set of Campy Gran Sport pedals, (yes I like Old Skol cleats) to complete the missing pedals.

Never would have believed I would have found one of my dream bikes, for nearly the same price I paid for my Bridgestone 30 years ago.

Database contribution. I have a Celeste 1989 Giro originally bought in Richmond VA. SLX/SPX tubing. Serial # 9 . C on non drive side 3822 drive side. Same frame set as the Mondiale and SuperLeggera from that year.

There seem to be more questions than answers here but I thought I'd throw mine in anyway. I got my hands on two Bianchi frames a few years ago and foolishly had them "restored" before finding out the details of the bikes. Can anyone help me with more info now? Hopefully we haven't taken them too far from their original state (bar a few obvious modern shortcomings).
