Hello. is that is a stock color Slate? the down tube is round at the headlug and oval horizontally at the BB shell? that would make it a Super Set 2 frame and again if the color is slat it is a '92 Eros frame. it was built with Tange Infinity Double Butted tubing. it came with a triple RX100 group. I sold alot of them (but in the purple rose/ midnight blue color). they were real nice bikes.

Got this new bianchi here's the info the seller gave me, " 80's Bianchi Campione D'Italia road bike. 14 speed. 60cm. Made in Italy.

I got this bike with the intentions of giving it to my brother, but it was just a little too big.

The bike has new cables, new cable housings, new bar tape and new tires and tubes.

Classic Columbus Lugged steel frame, quattro shifters, crankset and derailleurs, selle italia saddle, ITM handle bar, Ofmega headset, bianchi SPD style clipless pedals. (will include regular pedals)

Has some rust and scratches but all in all a good vintage bike "

Only thing i can see on the BB is 7896 and some other random number on different sides saying " 1 6 " and " 14 "

Is there actually someone out there compiling and trying to decipher this information, or is it just a "show us your Bianchi" thread. I'm hoping it's the former because I noticed some similarity between this number and mine. This is a rather abused reparto corse with what I think is a non-original fork. I had assumed it was a early 90's model, but think it may be a little earlier now.

Serial # 59 on one side of BB. On the other is what looks like an I-230.

I am hoping so too. Unfortunately I don't have any clues to offer about your bike, from the SN. Or mine. Mine (in post #76 above) is year and model unknown, SN A404761 (the 0 is hard to read - could be a D, or maybe an 8 or 9) and I have no idea what that might mean. Any insights would be most appreciated!

EDIT: I shouldn't say "year and model unknown" - Bianchigirll, I'm going with your hunch that it's a '92 Eros - it's just that the silver metal flake color seems like a stretch for "slate" and the frame does not look repainted. All the more reason I'm so curious about if the SN reveals any clues.

well unfortunatly I do not think even Bianchi can decipher their serial numbers. not even on Reparto Corse frames so ti is sort of a visual comnparison to old catalogs. however I think Tmar has some sort of data base somewhere he uses.

rothenfield is your frame a 59cm? that would be what the frame size. Bianchi offered a TSX in the '92 catalog with a Chorus/Athena Ergo mix. then in '95/'96 they offered a TSX UL as a frame and also as bike.

between about '93 and '98 Bianchi offered various El and ELOS frames and complete bikes. again as Bianchi was not inclined to keep serial numbers the best way to identify it is by matching the catalog.

OH Rothenfield what is the Columbus sticker on your fork? most Columbus frames from that era shoe a chromed unicrown fork. yours looks like an older Sl fork with that sloping crown.

Bianchigirl, I'm pretty sure the fork did not come with this frame. You can kinda see it in the photo, but the frame has a pearl clearcoat and the fork does not. The frame did come with a set of Athena brakes. I always assumed that they didn't come with the frame either. Maybe they did. I don't see any markings on them so I can't date them. The Columbus decal is just TSX not TSX UL. It's 57cm ctc top tub and seat tube. It also came with a Shimano 7400 36x24T BB which I can't get off. I measured the BB shell with a micrometer and it read 69.25mm. Very odd. I'm assuming it's Italian thread, is it possible that it is English?

Ok, here's one I cant find any info on, and the serial number format doesn't seem to match either:

Was originally Celeste, but a previous owner repainted it. It's actually not bad, the lugs are white, with a yellow head tube. Unfortunately the rest of the frame is a baby blue, close to Celeste, but not green enough :-(

1984 Bianchi Campione D'Italia. Everything listed matchs except for the Cinelli bar and 7 speed freewheel. FYI, tubeset is Columbus Tretubi SL matched with Aelle stays and forks.

With all due respect to BianchiGirl, I don't think it's the Campione del Mundo, as it didn't use the Speedy brakeset for the period mentioned.

Hello, I have a Bianchi Frame I too am trying to Identify. It is celeste and has the serial number on the seat tube lug. Serial number is 2A 117. Can anyone help with this. Nice frame that I am restoring but am interested in info on it. Seems like Bianchi has an odd serial number system. Thanks

To tell the model and year you really needs pictures plus the serial number because while the serial number contains the last digit of the year, it doesn't tell us the decade. Generally, the 1980s bicycles pop up, so this one is probably a 1982. The presence of a Piaggio decal on the seat tube would confirm this.

I was presented with a Bianch frame set today. I have always been interested. Didn't take pictures but here are some characteristics.
1. SLX tubing sticker
2. Sloping crown with panto on the top of the crown and the leg
3. 4 single eyelets for the cable on the TT.
4. Squarish CS bridge by the BB.
5. The color of Bianchi - celeste.
6. FD mount.
7. Bottle cage mounts on both the DT and ST.
8. BB housing had Italian threads.
9. Giemme (SP?) dropouts.

Any Ideas of time frame? I looked at the catalogs and they all have squarish crowns with B not the crest like this one.
The price was $200 with campy headset and fork. Paint was in bad shape with some rust around the cable housing eyelets. Is this too much?

Hello a SLX Bianchi frame for $200 not a bad buy. does the fork look like the one in Rothenfield1's pics? what do the graphics look like? blue with a reddish line through them? I suspect it is about a '89 to '90.

Yes! It also has 126 rear spacing. He said he would swap the headset in it for the one in my wrecked Motobecane - Stronglight.

Found one on ebay about the same. Looks like the Chrome was painted and sticker location different. Aside from that it looks identical, ok except for the size.

I bought a celeste Bianchi frame on Ebay. The serial number is- AS21881

I have never seen the decal set on another frame. There are a series of hash marks with a gradiant on the seat tube and the downtube behind 'Bianchi'.

that decal style dates from the early '80s, but most of the bikes I see in the '81 '82 catalog with that decal design are lower level and no Celeste. are there any frame material decals?

OH I a nice collection of older catalogs. I am not sure who uploaded the information on that site but I do not think it is complete.

I suspect this is a 1982 Canadian market model. It is definitely of Japanese manufacture. Based on what appears to be an Ishiwata 022 (?) decal on the forks, the most likely candidate would be a Limited.
