Is powder coating the only option left?

I am currently rebuilding a '73 Raleigh Superbe but the rust is too much and looks like they got into the paint and damaged it. Most rust on it has removed by OA.

Is sand/bead blasting & powder coating is my only option left? If i am really going to that route, I will send in the frame, f/r fenders, chain guard, and also this fork for a total repaint.

That's how it is after the OA bath..

How do you want it to look? Bare steel, painted? If bare steel, then you can buff it with a green scotch brite pad and then spray clear over it / wax it. If you are trying to determine what you want to do, I would at least rough it up with a little sand paper and then shoot it with a primer. I might go so far as to paint over the top after priming with a rattle can paint if you want to ride it this year and then have it painted next year.

Whatever you choose to do, you need to protect it from further rushing while you decide what to do.

I was hoping after the OA bath, rust will be removed (it does) and the paint that was covered by rust will come back to life and shine. I didn't expect those rust damaged all those painted area like this. Probably will send them in for sandblasting and powdercoating.

Do I still need to put them in a OA bath to remove rust before powdercoating? Or sandblasting will simply remove all rust, including the inside of the tubes?

Ahson,
Before you do any sanding on the frame, rub it down with some Maguire's Scratch-X and see how it looks to you. That paint doesn't look too bad from the pictures. The Maguire's should bring out a shine.
