Thanks It has come out nice. Since I'm not going to ride it every day and it's more of a wall flower I put a old 60's Schwinn rack on it...
I'm still trying to decide if I want to polish it up and keep it on there.
This thing is a tank to start with but it's taking on a classy look.

Yup, those are north road bars. Aren't they nice?

I love the horse picture!

You must know a thing or two about bikes. You can't hide it. You've done everything right, as far as I can tell, including the length of the cables and the angle of the handlebars.

Thanks Noglider. It really is the first one I have ever done. I have a eye for it I guess, I do restore things for a living so it must translate to this.
This bike came from your neck of the woods, Fords NJ. That's where my husband lived. Well,,,, kinda still does several months out of the year taking care of his mother who is still in Fords,Trying to move her down here.

I am so happy with how it came out. My next project is my Cannondale frame. Not as old, but should be fun.

Yeah, the Cannondale could more fun to ride. At least it will if you're going more than three miles.

Good luck with your mother in law. It's tough. My mother is 84 and quite creaky.

Thats some nice work. I have a Ross road bike I might refinish if it fits me. It won't turn out nearly that nice though.

Dang, you could probably sell it on eBay for more than it cost new! Nice job.

Haha... Ummm 52 Lbs with the luggage Rack.

I was going to put some newer lighter parts on,,, but now I think It's better to leave it original.
It's not like I'm going to ride this one every day. It will spend most of it's time on hooks and get taken to town now and then for rides in the park.

After seeing the final results, I have to agree with you that there's good reason to leave it with the original parts. Came out so well, and the leisurely riding it's going to see, the weight isn't a significant issue. Looking forward to the Cannondale. I'm always on the search for a classic Cannondale road bike in my size. I like them, even tho' some don't.

Well it's starting. Got my wheels today and added a few dress up stripes and the flag under the name. But that's for another thread.
