panasonic dx2000

Finished building a Univega Fixie (with front brake) with/for my 13 year old last summer...... next thing i hear is "Dad I love the fixie, but want a bike with 2 brakes and gears to go on long rides with you" Break my heart

Picked this up on local craigslist...... a 1987 Pansonic DX-2000. it has "shimano light action group" 6 speed, indexed

it got a cleanup, clean and grease head set and wheels, new sealed BB,new cables, housings, grip tape, new chain, new yellow and black tires swapped in a set of ultegra 600 brakes, put round chain rings on to replace the Biopace (have a 42/52 biopace if anyone is interested)

the kid made a thank your video for me with the bike in it

He now has 3 bikes, BMX, Fixie, Road..... and I am only at 2 (utilyt/commuter and road)...so I guess it is time to save for a classic italian frame 58 cm for next project so we are even on bikes.

I always love the black and yellow color scheme on the Panasonic's, like a bumble bee. Good to see you kept the yellow for the cable housing.
