The 8th is Mother's Day, not a conflict with me .. but might be with others.

No can do May 8, but I can possibly do May 7 or May 14/15 or any subsequent May weekend (always subject to spousal approval/negotiation).

We should alert the authorities before we fire up the rain making device again.

May 14th seems to be mentioned a couple of times, any objections?

I don't log on too often so I miss the thread. I am out of town on the 14th. Rain sounds good to me for the 14th. Will try to make room for later dates.

Normally this would be a conflict, but the wife is away for Mother's day... which leaves me free and clear for the 8th.

I have commitments for this weekend. I wouldn't put too much stock in the weather predictions that are still in the science fiction range. Chaotic behavior was first observed by a meteorologist, after all. Which ain't sayin' it ain't gonna' rain. Just that it might not.

Last time it was pretty consistent rain. Now it is saying sunny and 74 for the 14th. Hope it stays that way.

I was thinking 10am... ride shouldn't take 3 hours, another hour to swap and eat... 2pm.

Want to move it up to 9 or 9:30am?

Yep, starts at 2, figured I could sneak in by 3! The last Open House we had Jim Muller and Frank the Welder stop by, it was nice to see some C&V'ers visit. All are welcome, we build them like they did 500 years ago. Other than a little carbon fiber.

I'd like to attend, but if I can't get the day off I'll have to be at work by 3:00PM as well. In Augusta.

We should try to get a roll call on who's planning to ride on the 14th. ... I'm in weather permitting. Rain day could be the 15th but then we'll lose Pastor Bob.

Weather permitting, I'll be there. What's the start location now? Still the taco place in Kittery or is back to Portsmouth?

I'd rather aim to start at 10AM but 9:30 is doable if necessary. I'm in Waltham and can take a bike or two (and riders even!) from the west or northwest of Boston.

I don't like the idea of leading the group over that long metal deck on a busy bridge, so I say we park in the municipal lot across from the police station (green arrow) as marked on the route in the first post.

9:30am start, for those who need to go right after.

That sounds like a plan. (It also sounds like a workday morning , but what the heck, we don't get to do rides like this every day. )

Will we do some parts-swapping and bike oogling? That can happen before or after, and if it's after then the people who need to leave earlier can do so while the rest of us hang around for a bit. I'll probably bring a few parts that someone might could use.

I wish I could join you Saturday, but I can't.

The Chair of the Property Committee scheduled the annual spring clean-up at the church on Saturday morning. He did this while I was away riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway with DrRobWave.

May to early June is such a crazy time for me. Church plans keep me tied down for about 4 out of 6 Saturdays (including Memorial Day weekend). It's just not fair!

Have a great ride! If I planned a Sunday afternoon ride in July, would you guys head to the mountains? Or would Saturday be better?

I have a 50% or at least non-zero chance of pain. I seem to have developed a serious lower-back muscle irritation. Curiously, the pose over a bike's handlebar is one of the few positions that does not hurt! However driving for any great distance does. It may be better by Saturday. But if it isn't I will most likely skip the ride. Bummer.
