Just bought lotus excelle

Hi, I am new to this forum but have been reading some threads on the lotus excelle. I just bought one that needs some fixing up but is rideable as is. I will need at least a new rear rim but might just buy a pair. I am not sure what size rim to get.
Right now the rear rim has 27x1-1/4 touring tire and the front has 27x1-1/8 road tire. I have never bought bicycle rims before, so I don't know much about them.
But I know people have been trying to ID some lotus bikes to find out what year it is so I wanted to add mine to the forum to see if it might provide anyone with more information. It has the shimano 600 derailleurs and tange 2001 tubing. The seller did not really know anything about it. I will post some pictures and you can feel free to ask me to try and get any other info off the bike or post other pictures.

Let me know if there is any problem with that photo link, it is my first time using picasa.

The stem shifters and turkey lever brake handles point to your bike as being an entry level ride. But, that is OK as my Fuji has the same stuff and I like riding it just fine.

BTW, the next photos you post should be of the drive side of your bike.

Probably 36 hole rims, so you might want to check these out at $12.95 a piece at JensonUSA...

These tires might be of interest...
