Pretty in pink

Well the last of my stuff came today. My clipless shoes and these loud pink tires!

YEAY!

Whats the story of the frameset? Must of been some sorta team frame? Kinda like the polka dots on it. Really can't stand colored tires, such a 1996/97 de rigueur thing, or maybe a fix gear hipster deal haha.

speaking of pink, and cannondales... I got my '03 (I think) caad 7 frame redone:

No, just how I painted it.
Well, I did put the name of my business on it and called it "Team" Spookeay Marine.com LOL.............. I am going to ride the tires a bit and see how they do. I know they are hard to keep clean.

ColonelJLloyd 04-04-11 02:57 PM

It definitely deserved pink tires. Nice work!

JunkYardBike 04-04-11 02:59 PM

I like it. Clean 'em after every ride and they'll probably stay fairly bright. And don't ride through any mud puddles!

pastorbobnlnh 04-04-11 03:05 PM

The perfect shade of pink, no less!

So is a Spookeay Bird a Pink Flamingo? :innocent:

Zaphod Beeblebrox 04-04-11 03:06 PM

I know a girl who would absolutely go nuts for that bike. Very cool.

Spookeay Bird 04-04-11 03:36 PM

Yea I think it's too cute. so do many of my friends I have shown it too.
Now, to learn these clipless. I can get one foot locked in but the other one after I am going, I am playing hell with LOL. I guess like any thing practice.

BluesDaddy 04-04-11 03:51 PM

Practice... over grass is not a bad idea.

KonAaron Snake 04-04-11 04:02 PM

That goes together really nicely...it looks hot and fast.

Thanks, Ya know my thing is really art and design. If I can just get the thrifty part down I think I could get pretty good at this bike stuff LOL

My first vintage build was a Raleigh Professional in Team Livery. I of course thought it was an SBDU Team bike until I learned a bit more about the serial numbers. Still...it's a Worksop Professional, it could have been a LOT worse (like a Record). I used 27inch rims instead of 700s on the build, I replaced the Reynolds decal (and used the wrong Reynolds decal) and I bought most of the parts from ebay. I spent quite a bit, probably around what you spent, and I consider it tuition.

I got better at it and you will too.

Oh Sorry,,, http://spookeaymarine.info/photos/bird7.jpg
The original Spookeay Bird. I now have 5 parrots. 2 greys, 1 macaw and one umbrella cockatoo & one amazon.

Oh I know I will.... The old adage, A lesson learned is never a free one. LOL!

Thinking about taking a photo of the bike tonight under a black light...

Spookeay, you've got to get that bike and that bird in a photo together. Not that I'm personally adept with colors, but I understand that pink and grey are very complimentary, and I can't say that I disagree.

Get comfortable clicking out before taking a ride... and stay away from traffic for a few days. Everybody, and I mean everybody, hits the pavement while starting with clipless.

Love the bike... the tires are perfect for it. :thumb:

Well, this is about as good as I can do on short notice and dark so they are set to roost.http://spookeaymarine.info/photos/spookbike.jpg

See, that's why they do not interest me.
