Older Peugeot Question
Here are some specs on a Peugeot that I've owned for 20 years (but rarely ride any more; it's too big for me):
purchased: 6/16/84
model: UO14 (GO14?)
frame: 24"
wheel: 27"
serial no. * * * * * *
1227832
purchase price: $289.95
I've searched all over to find out anything about the quality/upgradability/saleability of this bike. I just discovered THIS forum. Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Bikes: A few more than my fair share.
Check out Sheldon Brown's site ( https://www.sheldonbrown.com/velos.html ). He has all sorts of info about quality and upgradability of old French bikes. There are some quirking issues with tube and thread sizes to consider. A number of folks that read this forum have old Peugeot's, so you might get some good replies. Try a search of these forums as well.

Thanks, Fixed Up North.
I've tried Sheldon's site before; he only references two models (UO8 and PX10). And I've searched the forum's archives for "UO14", but returned no hits (other than my own).
It may be that the model number on the sales receipt is wrong, so I'm also looking for any guide to the serial numbers on Peugeots.
So, I trust that the Peugeot congniscenti on the forum will be able to help.

There were a number of UO models; I've run into a UO9 and a UO10, so the designation may be right-- I tend to learn about some of this stuff as I run into it.
