Any thoughts as to what this bike might be?
Hello,
I recently bought this bike on CL on a whim, not knowing anything about it as I know next to nothing about road bikes. I was hoping that some folks on here might be able to help me ID it and figure out any info regarding the make/model/year of it? I apologize in advance if I use the incorrect terminology or names for various parts or have no clue what you're talking about - I'm really new to all this...
Here are all the pictures I've taken of it so far: (lemme know if you want a close-up of a specific part that I haven't uploaded yet)
https://www.flickr.com/photos/2610295...7626381642505/
Here's what I "know" about it:
- The serial # found under the BB is - 2F3275
- Campagnola hubs
- weighs 24 lbs total
- 27 x 1 in tires
- Tange Falcon headset
- Suntour GS dropouts
Speculations:
- It's probably Japanese made from the 70's sometime
- The crankset may be first generation Dura Ace
- A few parts have been "updated" such as the stem, shifters, brake levers
Thanks!

It is a repainted Schwinn World Voyageur (made by Panasonic for Schwinn) from about 1973. Nice bike fully chromed under the paint. Wheels are not original to the bike.

Original spec, if it's this year.
https://www.velobration.com/sldataboo...3worldvoyageur
Catalog pages for the 74 Voyageur II (probably similar .. why couldn't I find the 73?)...
https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...974__ins1.html
https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...974__ins2.html
Bob Hufford's decoding of a Voyageur Serial Number....
SN is: S2G5451 (snip) My best guess is the S means a frame built for Schwinn; the 2 means it was built in 1972; the G might mean July; and the last four digits, a sequential number.
