Just finished making two large pans of lasagna with layers of roasted garlic and bell pepper.
It required the industrial size tub of ricotta!
Now to squeeze in a two hour ride before work.

I don't care where you live. If you are 2 hours from Manhattan or less, you eat better than 99.9% of the world. We have awesome localvore in VT but nothing beats the city.

I used to live in Brewster NY. We had a local deli (deliland) that had Boars head and that brand of rolls that are made in the Bronx every night and delivered all over the region, anyway I used to eat at least two meals a day at that place. Egg and cheese in the morning for $1.85 and lunch with a large sobe for around $6.00.

...well said Frank. I grew up in the Rockies and I couldn't stand pizza ...for 40 years...until I ate some in New York and found out the stuff they called pizza back home ...wasn't. Oh man...do I wish I could get some of the pastrami they had in those small delis.

I went shopping today for the weekend.
Not sure what meal gets what, but on the menu will be:
BLT's on home made whole wheat bread...
Buffalo burgers ("royale") on home made whole wheat buns, with sweet potato fries...
artichokes with hollandaise sauce...
Port wine chocolate cake with whipped cream...
And cinnamon rolls for breakfast, of course....
I don't remember what else I bought.
For Easter dinner I will, as always, lobby for roast duck. At some point after they shout me down I will announce I caught a bunny in the yard, that the dog (evil schnauzer) had maimed it, and we either have to take him to the animal hospital right away, or eat him for dinner. I'll try to get a photo of the look on my daughter's face!

I dunno what got into me but I just spun 80 gear inches for like 4 of the 7 miles of my commute. I fee like a champ! (or is that chump?)
I'm firin up my C&V Weber (steel is real...real hot.) its gettin close to 20 years I think now...its either gonna be pork or chicken covered in BBQ sauce and some asparagus. mmmm grilled Asparagus.
or maybe sausage.
Frank's right about the food. Rootboy, I've heard it said that its the water that makes the pizza so good around here...I don't know if that's true or not...its something that came out of the mouth of a big fat hairy guy covered in flour wearing lots of gold chains

Became this that I picked up from my friend in W. Kentucky this weekend. I had to brave tornadoes to get it! Cured ham, bacon and jowl bacon. Oh yeah!

The first Vidalia onions have arrived and I received several pounds this weekend so those will be involved. Like ZB, I'm eager to fire up the ol' Weber if I can get a break in the rain.

Leftover Easter ham (Dearborn Sausage Company brand). We also had scalloped potatoes and fresh new asparagus in a sauce that may have been garlic and peppercorn. Plus a salad of greens and red peppers, with Labatt Blue. And my wife's banana cake and Calder's chocolate milk for dessert. Hmm, we should have Easter dinner again today. The hambone and scraps will then go to a soup, either seven-bean, split green pea, or a gumbo.
