Sorry, another Bianchi to ID...thanks

Hey,

I just picked this up today. Got a rather odd mix of components. Anyone got an idea
what it might be?

Frame:

Columbus Zeta with Bianchi dropouts.
Seat stays have a B in a circle
Chrome on drive side chainstay
Serial no. is BN30955, stamped on head tube, not BB
Also has a little sticker on the head tube with "Bianchi 00.4.60" on it.

Components:

Shimano Altus RD and FD (I thought these were touring derailleurs?)
3TTT stem and bars
Bianchi headset
Gipiemme cranks and rings
Shimano hubs with Mavic rims
26.6 Campagnolo seatpost
Universal Model 77 brakes and levers
Horrible, horrible saddle

Think I paid a bit much, but even the short ride home with the saddle set too low felt really really nice. Maybe take it to L'Eroica next year if I can afford it

Thanks for looking,

Johnny

From: Lancaster,CA the desert north of Los Angeles

Bikes: 84' Ciocc, 79' Shogun 1000, 76' KHS Gran Sport, 96' Schwinn Super Sport,

It's nice no matter what year. Took a look to see if I could help but all I could say is before 90'.

it looks pre '84 judging by the decals. is this in the states? European bikes are usually a bit different from ours, but in the states the Charcoal color, Universal 77 brakes and GiPme cranks it soulnds like a Nouvo Racing from '81

Hey,

Thanks. The bike's in Belgium. I don't know much else about it, PO bought it for his son who found it toobig, so he sold it on.

I have a few bits around that I thought might fit better than what's on there:

-Campy Nuovo Record RD and FD
-Either some wheels with Campy Record hubs and Weinmann rims or some with Miche hubs and Ambrosio rims
-A Selle Concord saddle

Do you think these would be right for a bike this age? The current wheels have some rust on the spokes and I don't
realy like the Altus derailleur.

Cheers,

Johnny

I would leave it like it is. depending on the age of the Altus derailleurs the rear is a better design and will shift a bit, sorry Campi fans, better than a uovo Rec.

try a bit of steelwool on the spokes to clean the up.
