8speed CAMPY question
Hello fellow citizens,
I have a quick question on a campy record 8 speed ergo equipped bike I recently picked up. I know this group is old and obsolete but I was hoping to find anyone who knew about adjusting the rear hub and specifically removing the freehub body. I am not used to working on campy hubs so when I loosened the axle nuts to take out the axle, I was surprised that the freehub body came out with it. The freehub was a little wobbly and I was hoping to find a nut to tighten it up but I cannot figure it out. I don't even know how to take the freehub off the axle, which is something I will probably need to do to replace it... Hopefully someone out there has experience with this oldschool 8speed group and can help me out. Advice will be much appreciated. Thank you! pictures will be attempted.

The center of the freehub bearings are just stuck to the axle. The freehub can be removed without removing the axle. Loosen the allen grub screw and remove the locknut, washer, and spacers...freehub body slides off. If necessary, you can replace the sealed freehub units.

if you have an estimate on the year. ~Pg 58 and around here:

Is an example of one of the hubs. The difference in the hubs is in the finish, usually, and there is a small difference in the axle/freehub interface for pre- and Exa-drive, but this shouldn't matter to you. Basically all of the rear freehubs are put together the same way.
