Vintage Bike Stores

Momovelo used to sell some great Vintage / Retro stuff, but now it seems like they have halted sales for a bit. Anyone know any stores online like it? Thanks.

Bikes: Schwinn Paramount, Raleigh GS, Dawes Galaxy, Motobecane Grand Touring, Ron Cooper, Gitane Grand Record, etc.

Try this site for complete bikes. Or if you are looking for parts First Flight comes to mind.

I've bought stuff from this place before. They have some cool stuff. A little pricey and don't expect to receive your purchase in a hurry, but where else youe gonna go?

Sorry Milo, I forgot to paste the link to Team Karim into my first post. Also, try CyclArt at www.cyclart.com . I think their Cyclmart page is currently down but I'm sure Jim Cunningham will have it back up soon. I've spent hours on his site drooling over his collection of old stuff.

The best place to get vintage bikes is probably a scrap yard sorta place.

Like cars you could get a wreck and fix it up and you'd feel a sense of accomplishment before having your very own wonder of the ancient world!

Keep your eye on your local dumps!

Search the web for a local bike co-op.
The one in Cleveland has thousands of bikes from all periods.
Also buying from a co-op supports local community cycling programs.

Cool, thanks for all the links. I spend way too much time at the Co-Op as it is

I guess I am looking for more retro remake stuff rather than vintage, but im not sure yet. I am building a Schwinn corvette for my sister for christmas, as a get around town bike, she races XC and her Yeti isn't quite the "grocery" bike the Schwinn could be.

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I saw several ladies' retro bikes at the VOA thrift store in Mechanicsburg, PA this morning (a mere 4 hours from Pittsburgh). A couple of them were Schwinn's, and there were two or three that looked like the frames and fenders were in very good shape.
