Long Island C&V century training ride, Part II: Sat 6/25, NNJ

I'm planning to ride another metric century this weekend in preparation for the LI century. The ride will start in Budd Lake and head south around Round Valley Reservoir. Lots of pretty scenery and some good climbing, so probably best to bring low gears. Also, some unpaved surfaces and rough pavement, so plan accordingly. There are no "walls" on this climb, but overall climbing totals will approach the Fiddler's Elbow route. (We do have various options to end it with a wall, however, if anyone is interested!) Also, depending on how we feel at the end of the ride, we can add mileage if we want.

This time, let's say wheels down at 9am.

Anyone in?

By the way, this is open to anyone, riding any type bike. I'm only using the LI century title as motivation for those of us planning to attend that ride.

Normal? That's like mid-afternoon for me...

Does this mean you could have made it last Saturday, but can't make it this Saturday? We're riding through Chester. There's another carrot for you...

I probably have already used up my weekend rides until that actual Long Island ride. I will be in Chester starting tomorrow afternoon probably until Friday, then home on the weekend, then back there again next week. Same thing for the next 4 weeks or so.

Not sure I can pull off another weekend with 2 long mileage days. (Not sending the wife off to the bed and breakfast and spa this weekend)

Jersey's a trek, but a local century ride I had planned on for the 26th just got cancelled. I'd kind of like to get a ride in this weekend and have never actually gotten together with anyone on BF. I'll check back in a few days...

What other ride do you have in the works? Sending wives off to a spa together...now there's a plan!

Would love to have you join. Doesn't appear this ride will be heavily attended, though.

Doing my usual Sunday club ride which is about 40 miles or more depending on my route home. Runs out to Milford from Genesis bike shop in Easton some climbing but nothing like fiddlers or Harmony B.C. Rd. Your welcome to join if Saturday doesn't work out. avg speed around 16-17

I do remember you mentioning that. I'm probably more of a 13-14 mph rider, though I've never had a bike computer to calculate my average on-bike speed. I appreciate the invite however!

So, I think I'm riding Sunday instead of Saturday based on weather forecasts. Which will probably help clear the weather up for Saturday.

If anyone is interested in riding Sunday, PM me.
