Early Concorde MTB
#2
there's a '93 catalog on Velobase, but this Concorde looks earlier than '93...nice slack angles and looong wheelbase, should be a plush ride!
While there's a chance this was built in the EU (might have been Italy or Belgium/NL) I'd bet it's sourced from Japan...certainly the later Concorde Mtn. bikes were (as well as from Taiwan). Does this have any serial numbers? Any brand on the dropouts/forkends?

Looks like a Tange fork, or at least the crown. Hard to tell, but the rear dropout looks like Tange as well. Looks like Shimano MR-AT50 canti brakes with SLR levers, placing the bike around 1986-1992? Looks to be in mint condition!

Looking at the way this thing is put together I'd seriously doubt it is gas-pipe. + Concorde made nice bikes. If this thing were mine I'd throw some slicks and drops on there and make it the ultimate touring bike. Nice find!

Thanks for all the comments! I'm based in the Netherlands and according to my info Concorde was a Dutch brand. The early road frames were made in Italy by Ciocc. The pics above are after a good clean and after I changed some parts. It came with BR-AT50 brakes, M730 hubs on Wolber AT-20 rims, Panaracer Mach SS tires, Colnago headset, campagnolo seatpost, Ritchey Force fillet brazed stem, Ritchey Force bar, Avocet saddle and some non-original parts. I guess it's from 1989. That's why I put M732 parts on it. The wheels are just for the picture, have to clean the original ones!
I bought the bike for €40, that is $58!!
Yesterday I discovered a four digit framenumber underneath the BB. Forgot the number by the way!
More info is welcome!

The "Colnago" HS does make you wonder, but I had one of those apart once and IIRC it was a re-branded Hatta (or some similar Asian brand). Still think it could be built in Japan but maybe assembled in Benelux...was anything stamped on the steerer (like "Tange")?
