Hey, thanks a lot. I took that shot with my iPhone 6 in pano mode (I guess I had just the right amount of beer with dinner that night or something). This phone blows away my Canon point & shoot and in a much smaller package. Great for bike rides!

Daughter asked to go for a ride today. I've got sooooo much to do, finish the club mag tonight, clean the house, prune fruit trees before holidays, pack for holidays. But, daughter asked to go for a ride and I will never say no to that.
So took the Miyata Valley Runner for a valley run. Daughter has named this rig the 'Millenium Falcon', I was Han Solo and she's Rey. Bikes and Star Wars, my kid and I have lots of fun.

Another Ride on the Hastings Trail
I've posted these to a couple other threads, but they fit in here as well. Went back to Hastings, Minnesota again today, and brought my friend Ian this time. He rode his old sixty-something Dunelt, in red, and I rode my blue Velo de Ville this time.
The light was diffused by some moderate cloud cover, and that lent a nice, soft quality to the photos:

Last weekend, I rode right past this sculpture without even seeing it - unless they just put it out there this week...

When the sun popped out from behind the clouds, I took advantage of the brief, bright interlude and shot this:

Another weekend, another excellent ride. How much more of this can I stand?

darn it! I meant to post on the 5 year anniversary of this thread the other day and forgot. Oh well.
Well anyway, here's a beater jack Taylor Tour of Britain that i've had sitting around. I'm going to build it and ride it as is for a bit. The pic makes is look better than it is.

I was in Chicago for a family wedding and got a chance visit the Museum of Science & Industry where they had a small "Art of the Bicycle" exhibit, including a mix of old & new. Here are a few of the old ones on display:

Here are a few images from my ride on the Root River Trail yesterday:

An old gas station in the little town of Petersen.

When viewed from the trail, some of these old farms look... arranged or composed somehow - for best viewing from the trail. "Which is nice..."

Just off the trail in several places, one finds these nice gravel roads to test your `grinding skills on.

A rest stop by the river.

Beautiful architecture, some of the brick buildings are magnificent.
If you are ever in the area, the Root River Trail is definitely worth a visit.
