Goodness, fender1. Your stoker looks more than beat. Is he angry?

Probably, Tom. He had to pedal his old man around for 44 miles on that stupid, old bike.

We did about 21 miles w/ the rear bag dragging on a piece of plastic (old cat litter container) I had put on as a bag support. He was not angry but he has a right to be mad at his old man for being so dumb and taking that long to figure out wtf was going on. We actually wore through the plastic cutting it half. We just signed up for the 75 mile leg of the local MS ride in Sept and this was part of the "training". 21 miles w/ the brake on had me & him beat for the return 23.

Day off from riding today (too bad because the wind quit blowing but work calls).

I did score some bike stuff today - set of black Weinmann 500 brakes (hadn't seen those before), an orphan Suntour bar end shifter, Shimano 105 rear hub and a Maillard Helicomatic rear hub which will serve as an extra for the '84 PSV hanging on my wall).

Here I am at work, surveying the stream/bridge abutments of an old railroad, for the purpose of a new bridge for a new rail trail!

Took a walk today in San Jose's Japantown, had some Ramen and found this:

which doesn't appear to have any retail space...

Surprisingly, I don't think the brewery nearby did, either, although I didn't care to go inside of the brewery.

Nice. I live a few blocks from japantown. A half block from the japantown VTa trolley stop.

Anyhow, it's been one year today since I started this thread . Im glad it's still going strong!

I don't however have much interesting to add today.

Brian, who would have thought this thread would be so good?

I wish I were a better photographer. I suck.

That's a really cool neighborhood. I really considered living in that area, but unfortunately I work so far south that it would be impractical.

I live on Monterey Highway in a pretty industrial area. I find it's crazy how expensive the real estate is, but I think the quality of housing and rates of compensation are superb.

My son & I did 30 miles on the tandem this morning but I did not have a camera. In keeping with the C&V theme, here is the wall oven in my kitchen. 1964 GE.
