Another One Bites the Dust

Just found this sad frame on Ebay:

https://cgi.ebay.com/55cm-Raw-Steel-F...item43a8ab089f

If it could talk, I wonder what it would say?

If it had hands, I wonder how long it would've taken to choke the living ***t out of the Dremel-toting madman?

Dremels shouldn't be sold without a license - and a signed document of intent.

^ That's true, but only on special occasions with permission from the Pope.

I'm still in a holding pattern on the 15 half-holes until my drill press pal gets back from out of town, Keith. Rest assured, the ring/crank is safe and sound.

"There is a dent on the top tube that begins where the middle cable housing guide was."

It looks like the seller cranked it down in a vise.

I know, I don't have tires for the thing yet anyway so it being finished without tires would be worse

Bikes: Many

"This vintage, mid to higher end road bike frame deserves a new life as a fixed gear conversion" He said.

I hope his six hour "wave of destruction" was lucrative. No doubt the frame has been perforated in several places. Argh!

Last week or so, someone was asking about grinding off DT lever brazes......perhaps we were too late....RIP

That was probably me you're talking about. How do you think I did? The ebay auction for it seems to be going well!

I actually decided against getting rid of the one shifter boss. Hopefully I won't regret it after paint. I'm going to try to find a nice low profile bell to put on that side.

If the seller is being honest, sounds like this frame was pretty beat, too. And judging by the worksmanship, it doesn't appear to be a highly finished frame or a custom build. More likely from a shop with a high output.

That being said, the dremel work is rather crude.

Hmmm, if the seller finds this thread and decides to join BF, what do you think his user name will be? My guess: Drewllium Dude

Wonder if he got the paint off by setting it on fire - Anyway - If he sold it for 65.00 including shipping I would take it - Then I would braze all the bosses back on no problem...

It can be just fine. Those poor (probably once polished) dropouts did not fare well, though.
