Beautiful Klein Paint

I've read that paint on Klein frames was great and beautiful. I ran across this browsing CL tonight...oh man. Not quite C&V (yet, give it 10 years...) but just phenomenal IMHO still...

No argument here. Kleins fall under the heading of instant classics.

Of all the iridescent fades Klein's come in, you chose the monochromatic splatter one?

Yep, Klein had some pretty spectacular paint jobs back in the day.

Some of my favorites

Bikes: Colnagos (2005 Brera Art, 2007 President LdV, 2007 CF6)

I agree that the black & blue paint scheme looks really good. The components go well with it, too. Black rims & blue tires. Nice.

Yeah, I'm usually not one for colored tires but they seem to nail the speckle color in the paint. My only quibble, I'd have chosen black housings for the brakes.

Doesn't brake housing come in metallic blue?

I like the Klein color called "plum crazy." You can walk around the bike and the color will subtly change from a deep purple to a sort of copper and lots of shades in between as you see it in different light. Pretty amazing stuff.

Roger M, those Adroits are nice.

Bikes: See my signature

I always get a little disappointed because mine started as the flame orange color and the original owner didn't like it so he sent it off to the Yeti folks to have it painted Yeti blue. But, even that paint job is really nice. But, I really love those wacky fade Klein colors - even the purple and pink ones.

I was thinking the same thing! The bike the OP has pictured along with the Fervor (green and black spots) came with this "low end" paint job to keep the cost down.

It actually cost extra to order a bike in a solid color. I think i paid $120 more to get this bike in solid Ultra Violet instead of the stock violet/pink fade. The paint on this thing has incredible depth.

Ok, ok...so it's the cheapest Klein or whatever, the pain job is still incredible, as are all the other fades and such. Whoever put that bike togther had an eye and it looks great. The closeups of the paint I think speak to the quality of the paint job....that's all I was getting at.

Really interesting paint, and one Klein logo on the downtube....when did this quit and bikes become rolling billboards for the maker? I think is one of the most horrible trends recently in cycling.

When they had more room to fill, with all the shaped "tubing", deep rims and what not?

I hate this trend too. This should have stayed with cheapie Wal-Bikes and such.

Kleins got really ugly a year or so after Trek bought them out. They put all that gaudy Icon and Bontrager crap on them and just ruined the appearance of the bikes.
