Bianchi question

I was at the LBS before our weekly group ride last night and the owner mentioned he had just taken in a Bianchi I might be interested in. Can't really afford another bike but checked it out anyway.

It wasn't what I was expecting. There were no tube decals so I'm not what it's made with but it felt pretty light. Looked to be all original with Suntour Cyclone drivetrain, Dia Compe 500 side pulls, Dia Compe aero levers with gum hood is nice shape. Araya 700c gold anodized wheels and original gold Benotto tape.

I was hoping for a celeste bike but was surprised when this one turned out to be gray/silver with gold Bianchi decals. No model name was on the bike. I've never seen that color on a Bianchi and got a little curious.

Are ideas on what the model could be? I didn't have a camera with me so couldn't take a photo which was a shame it turned out to be a pretty nice bike.

I'll try and remember to look tonight, but I will be pretty busy. what style were the decals? were they the 'flag' type or did they just have a little dash at the begining and end?

it is likely like a '84is Limited level bike.

OH I just assumed it is friction shifting is that correct?

No big hurry. I unfortunately woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it. I didn't check the shifting but, then, didn't see an index marker so I assumed they were friction. I don't remember seeing the flag style decals. The Bianchi lettering was actually hard to see with the color combination which added a little more allure to the bike.

Man, I wish I had taken a picture of it.

are you sure it was black? could it have been dark maroon? it sounds like a '84 Limited but that came in silver or dark maroon with smoke anodized Araya rims.

No it was gray/silver with gold lettering. Do the specs line up with the Limited?
