What make is this?

I saw this in a shop awhile back, it has no decals and more than likely is a repaint.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Looks like Roto bottom bracket shell and fork crown. What's the BB threading? Are the dropouts Roto as well?

Bikes: blue ones.

Other than the Roto bits I'm stumped for clues. Never saw those top tube cable guides, they're a nice touch.

Nothing I recognize, but nice-looking.

Bottecchia?

the frame looks identical to a Bottecchia i just sold, the fork, not so much. BB shell is different as well, but i've not seen those unusual brake cable guides on anything else.

Based on the shape of the lug cutout and the cable guides in shnibop's photos, I think it's a Bottecchia.

No, Roto is Italian. They were popular with American framebuilders in the 70s and 80s as well.

Thanks for the info, it does look a lot like the Hitachi, except of course that it's not:

The lugs and cable guides are similar, but the fork crown and bottom bracket shell are completely different.

Could just be a different production run, I suppose.

Not sure if this is any help. But there was a guy, Paul Einsiedel, in Melbourne who built bikes in the 70s/80s, under the name RAM. They are built with many of those parts. I've only seen, and own, his track bikes.
