full sloping or flat top crowns with curved blades
High Flange NR hubs with curve QR levers(have both though)
Brooks Team Pro
NR crankarms & chainrings
cast dropouts
Mafac Racer calipers
Huret Jubilee derailleurs
Dislike-
Anything Weinmann
Anything Shimano
handlebars with Cloth tape(they look nice though)
straight fork blades
Cottered cranks
27" rims
stamped dropouts

^ Agreed. It's all a matter of taste. For my money, there is nary a RD that looks as classy as a 1st gen Cyclone GT. A Huret Jubilee looks a little cooler, maybe, but doesn't perform as well.

It's definitely taste...I don't care for either of those. The first gen cyclone looks like a SR style clone and the other is just a generic long cage RD to me.

oh, I forgot the Huret Jubilee. And contrary to most people here I'm a sucker for straight bladed forks, on the condition that they are steel and fully chromed. Precisa forks FTW.

I LOVE a good looking rack...the early Jim Blackburns speak to me. The eclipse rack on my Sachs tourer is incredibly attractive.
I also LOVE a nice brass bell.

The black plating aside, the pulley bolts and overall appearance strikes me as Campy'esque. They look even more similar for gen 2 when Campy went to the black cage...but I know Suntour had the black first.

I think they're all gorgeous. I'd covet these but is it really true we can't covet what we already have? That's no fun!
Plus these are too pricey, one is enough in this case.

Since racks were brought up. I like the centerpull mounted chrome pieces. They ad a nice finish to the front of an old bike. The TA models seem to be popular, but this un-named rack is pretty nice also.
BTW, I have a couple of those Eclipse racks. They are functional and have some nice features, but are anything but attractive. The extruded piece of aluminum welded to the top of the struts does not have any aesthetic appeal.

Speaking of big copper rivets...a co-op find last week, a Fuji Professional Super. Yum. I know Ryder covets this baby! He's got a fever, and the only prescription is more Super!

The Fujita looks great. Did Brooks ever sue Fujita? Sure looks like they had a good case.

i can't think of a common bike part that I haven't been obsessed with at one time or another. maybe front derailleurs? they're kind of boring.
i'm currently fascinated with all the nifty kinds of racks, centerpull brakes, dyno lights, and other innovative vintage parts found on randonneur bikes. I'm slowly falling in love with old French bikes...
One of my vintage component "grails" would be a handlebar-mounted stopwatch holder:
other vintage favorites include Assos saddles (ohhh so comfy! ohhh so rare!), adjustable stems, NITTO and Gran-Compe components. Also filed away for some day when I have the money and the storage space, I'd like to collect up a vintage Mavic group and a vintage Zeus group. The Zeus stuff would have to go on a Raszesa or Zeus frame, of course.

If you happen to have any extra bags for the rack, please let me know.

In addition to the Nitto Crystem, the rarely seen Nitto Pearl "G" is quite nice. I'm always on the look-out for one.

I'm not a lawyer, but look at the logo. It's an obvious attempt to piggy-back Brooks' 100+ years (at that time) of branding. The saddle design itself might be tricky to patent, but not the trademark.

Sorry Aaron, no bags. I've been looking for a set also. They show up on ebay on occasion, and I just missed a set on CL recently.
Someone mentioned to me that the bags that go on the Eclipse racks are pretty nice(as far as vintage panniers go).
Catnap, thanks for getting the parts out to me quickly. I appreciate it. And yes, the rack is a beaut(as well as the brakes).

I like Brooks Pros with the small rivets myself; that said, I recently bought this one. I hope I like it as much when it arrives.
I have a similar small-rivet saddle, but it's incredibly hard (though leather otherwise in great shape); obviously hasn't been ridden in ages, and I'm ditzing about what to treat it with, other than butt sweat.
I also prefer the Stronglight 49D to the TA Pro 5 vis.

thats either a TA, or a TA ripoff. Mine is marked TA. Or least it was, before I had the chrome plating removed, had a spot weld fixed, and had a light mount added and had it recrhromed. Now I'm not sure what it says.
