nice secret granny action! if you look at the top of this page you can see my massive 34t with XT RD - and its not enough, i need a triple like you have. but i'd say if the above frame is an asian market version, its not the same version as your version... if that makes sense.

That crankset is kind of a compact double with a granny included! The good part is that the middle ring is small enough that it hides the granny. Stealth! The Deore looks OK, but the mtn cage is not as attractive as a road triple cage. Not as attractive as the RD-1050, at least on this bike. That's the best job I have done yet cutting/sizing cable housing. I usually cut them a little short.

Looking good seypat. Nice and neat. I like that wrap.

yes we need pics of your IM! yeah he wants $140 for just the frame, but considering its interesting tidbits, it might be worth it -

there is a sticker on one side that might hold a clue, or it might just be a sticker.

The black and silver carbon is wicked looking! It might just be me, but the seatstay tubes on the mystery MV look way beefier than normal. The Centurion decal doesn't wrap as far around the tube. It could be an actual pro bike.

Re: the yellow/lavender "MV" for sale:
1-BB shell lugs are not consistent with any Ironman I know of, and not any Turbo's, Comp TA's, or even Lemans of the years of that paint scheme.
2-my opinion is that the frame decals are add-ons.
3-The R chain stay protector has been painted over, and long ago.

All of which lead me to believe this is a re-paint, perhaps of a collection of parts, Centurion or otherwise.
I'm leaning towards Shogun based on the seat stay caps, with a Centurion fork.

Re: the red/white Centurion by the same seller:
1-The fork crown was not found on any red/white Ironman models, not even seypat's overseas model.
2-the seat cluster lug is off where it flows into the ST. I know I've seen a frame like that, but I don't think it was a Centurion.
3-the decal font is off on the DT and the seat stays.
4-the fork ends have eyelets

I don't know what it is, perhaps an older Lemans re-painted. Looks a lot like the older Lemans.

That possibly fake Miami Vice also has a brake bridge that isn't consistent with an Ironman. It looks like it has a diamond shaped lug where the bridge ties into the seat stay. On my 85 and 88 there's no lug. I assume the other years are the same.

Captain RT to the rescue, here I was thinking/hoping it was a possible pro MV. Good detectiving with the bb shell.

You are right about the MV. I haven't seen an Ironman with chrome rear dropouts Plus the stays are not usually sculpted where they connect to the dropouts. The seat stays are wrapped around the seat lug, just like my Schwinn Prologue, which was built by Panasonic.

Looking good as is. A little elbow grease and that thing will shine like a diamond. I really like that color, I think that's my favorite master color.
As you know those brake components are not original. And although The 105 is a step down from the 600, for that year the 105 brake levers with the SLR are much better than the 600 levers. Those are some deep drop handlebars. Congratulations on another sweet acquisition.

Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing? What am I seeing, besides pure awesomeness? I think I finally got something to contribute to the dahell thread. Why is the wheel base so long and why is there so much tire clearance and why am I posting it on this thread?
Anyways, what ya think?

Yeah it look like it was a rider, besides those 105 having SLR , you can actually find hoods for them, unlike the 600 Aero levers. i also have a Trek 560 that has 600 and i swapped to 105 levers so i would have hoods.

it also has a rear 600 ultegra Shifter (7 Speed) so im figuring i will take it up to 7 speed , making it more of a rider..

This just popped up on the local CL. Would fit my girlfriend nicely, and be a solid upgrade from her '89 DX-2000, but it looks pretty rough.

Man, looks like my size. Seller definitely isn't going to maximise their value there.

I went ahead and hit up that CL seller about the rusty '89 since you have to move unbelievable fast and get lucky to get any kind of reply out here. Got a couple better pics of the rust, what do you all think? I asked if it had been used as an indoor trainer because that would explain the location of the rust but they said no, just served as a regular commuter to/from school.

Nice bike, but he wants people to chase the reserve. Don't play that game.
