Yes, it was a great day for a ride. I could see that from my office window.

Finally took the lady out for a spin. The weather was fine, the Liberty ready and the road whispering to me. This bike is such a delight! She rides (glides!) very smooth and lightly, the steering is direct and it feels like she weighs nothing. Or was it the wind in my back? She is a beauty and it's love, I guess.
Thanks very much for this update.
Not understanding non-fixie's "anorak" reference.
Perhaps one needs to be a dutch speaker...

New discovery. Barely visible through the paint, but on the front of the bike there is an inscription. It's a square with -I think- the letters J and V in it. Could these possibly be the initials of Jules Versaevel? Just guessing...

That lug profile looks just like the Bocama Professional lugs I have on one bike. Bocama lugs had a "BCM" inscription in that same spot, in a box. Some builders filed most or all of that inscription off. Could you have a Bocoma Professional lug with most of the inscription filed off, leaving a ghost that looks like a J and a V?

Yes, it does look like a Bocama "BCM" with a partial paint fill-in:

Yes, those are BCM lugs. Thanks for the help guys! The fork crown however remains in clouds... I'll keep searching!

Hello,
Been a very long time since I posted on here, but this is a great thread.
I noticed that some of the people on here seem to be from Vlaams-Brabant.
Is anyone interested in doing a ride on the 18th of June?
I've planned a course based on the Dwars Door Het Hageland, but shortened to 100km.
It includes most of the more interesting bits of the race, plus a couple of extra climbs. There are some nice cafes on the ride too.
The start is at the Vlierbeek Abbey in Kessel Lo near Leuven (there is a car park in the Provincial Domein).
It's a friendly ride, free to participate, self-supporting. I've planned a course on RouteYou:

Cheers,
Johnny

hello everyone.
I'm writing to You from Poland.
I always really liked older stuff and recently I really, really like vintage bikes
Here is my freshly bought Diamond on Norta frame.
Can anyone tell me something more about this bike? I couldn't find anything more than some information about Norta company...
Which year can it be from?
EDIT: I can't post pictures

Hello all,
Went to ride a part of the course for the ride on the 18th of June. I climbed the Citadel of Diest (which is a very nice
cobbled climb), and a long gravel section by the river near Aarschot. I was also able to check out one of the cafe stops.
Really looking forward to this ride, thanks to those who replied - I hope some of you can join us!

Hello, @usuniety! A somewhat educated guess would be 1980. After that, the shifter cable guides disappeared from the top of the BB shell, and before that top tube cable guides were usually clip-ons. Also, the serial number starts with a zero (after the E).

BTW, that tubing decal looks familiar. This frame was built by Vaneenooghe:

Hello friends! New lady in the stable! Found a Flandria cyclocross bike, probably from around 1983 but not sure yet. Lots of work to do and I already started to clean, polish and renew. I've never owned a Flandria nor a cyclocross bike, so this is fun. As I understand cyclocross is rather popular in Belgium. Who knows, one day... For the time being I'll put some nice Vittoria Rally shoes on her, not the wide cyclocross tubes. Hope you like her too. Most pictures are still from the seller. I hope to post some better pics soon.

^Nice! The corncob in the back doesn't look particularly 'cyclocross' to me, but then again I have no experience in that field either.
Enjoy! And keep us posted on your findings, please.

This bike is rather a mystery. For example: what do the numbers mean on the back of the pedal? And has anyone seen the headbadge sticker before? Can't seem to bring it home. The Flandria has these components:
- Front blade: Sugino Super Mighty Track
- Crank: Campagnolo 1046/A Nuevo Record Strada
- Derailleur: Campagnolo 980
- Shifter : Suntour 3090 Bar-Con
- Ballhead: Campagnolo 1039 Record Strada
- Brakes : Mafac Criterium Super de Luxe
- Brake levers : Modolo Speedy black&white 919
- Steering: 3TTT Competizione ‘Merckx bend early’
- Pen: Cinelli 1A ‘Milano logo’
- Saddle: Cinelli Unicantor ‘Milano’
- Pen: Sugino SP-H
- Rims : FIR Siriurs 700c
- Naves/spanners : Gipiemme Sprint
- Freewheel : Maillard 700 Course 6 speed 1.375 x 24 tpi
- Lugs: Bocama professional (BCM)
Any help/info/suggestion welcome!

In photos chainset appears to be Sugino Mighty Competition rather than Campag.

Can't help with the id, but I like the build, with some some really cool parts.
Those cranks are probably my all-time favorites, if only because of the name. "Super Mighty". How much better can it get?
Love those brakes too. Very light and excellent stopping power. Un doigt suffit!

Since crank arm has lands for an inner chainwheel it is road/cyclo-cross rather than track. Track would have no inner lands.

Working on the brakes... step by step! In the last picture you can see that there are the letters AB in the braze-on for the brakes. Does this indicate the frame-builder or just the braze-on producer?
