seeking vintage ~1978 Centurion LeMans - baby blue

The absolute best bike I have ever had. Did a double century on it and lots of touring. Looking for same bike or same frame to restore. 23"/56 cm. As far as I can remember it had a cro-mo lugged frame, bar-end shifters on "rams horn" handlebars, Suntour and Sugino components, and was 10 speed. Donated it to Cycle Across Maryland for their youth program. Now I want it back! Thanks for the help. Doug

1978 Centurion Super LeMans

Got my ex-wife's old bike down from the garage ceiling. It is a Super LeMans, just like my old one. It has all the components except the seat. Now all I need is a 23"/56cm frame to restore and put all the components on. Doug

I'd try jaxed mash, type in Centurion, see what comes up.

Sounds like the bike I currently own. I posted about it recently trying to place what year it is from.

This is my post from 2011. I am finally on the track of my baby-blue beauty. I have a frame (black) that I am going to have blasted and powdercoated, a Sora triple group for components (may have to have the frame cold spread (?), and then try to find decals for a pre-80 Centurion. Any hope I can find some?

I have a full set of (really, really close to perfect) vector graphics worked up for the 1976-78 Centurion Semi-Pro, including three of the Tange tubing decal variations. Your Super LeMans shares about 90% of the graphics, along with the Professional model. I tried seeing if VeloCals would barter them for some store credit, and was met with a thunderous lack of interest. I then just offered to give them in case anyone else needed them, but never heard anything back. Apparently, they want at least $150 in decals ordered, then they will do all the graphic work themselves, since "customer submitted files almost always need a lot of work" Seems a bit arrogant to me, but it's their business.

I'd be happy to send you or anyone else the files if needed. I was about to inquire with Greg Softley at CycloMondo.net in Australia, as I need one off the tubing decals made. He already has / makes decals for the older 72-75 LeMans. Hopefully he will at least take the files.

I would love the decal files from you. How do I get you my contact information? <dadunn@verizon.net>
