Had one just exactly like it until I sold it this past summer. Would've held on to it but mine had sagged too much.

Looks like maybe a #80. Just a guess.

Finished off like one, the 90 was dressed at the edges, nice logo imprint though.

The nose piece does not look right though, Ideale mfg. was sublet at the end... maybe from that time?

I have had two or three Ideal saddle, and the only one left in The Old Shed is this Rebour fitted to my Maserati...

For what it is worth, I hate the appearance of the cut off nose but the result is exceptionally comfortable...

This looks like a mod. 92 "Diagonale" saddle.

There was also a mod. 92 D saddle; slightly wider than the regular mod. 92, and a bit shorter:

Bikes: Steel is real. All others need not apply.

Looks like am old Ideale 90. A 92 Diagonal would be wider. An 80 would be shorter and narrower.

That is a model 92 Diagonale... "rebour" is the softening process used on the leather.

The OP's saddle has a clear "Ideale" imprint but no number designation... perhaps a second tier model rather than one of the top models as these were clearly stamped to show everyone what you were riding.

Rode my 92 Diagonale so much I almost wore the side stamping right off the saddle.

Hate to hijack, but...I was under the impression that the 92 "Diagonal" was a Womans saddle? Really dosen't matter as I think it's the most comfortable saddle I have owned
(including a couple of Ideale 90s). I do think they look a little odd with the short nose.

Cheers,
Chris

The mod. 92 Diagonale "D" was the woman's ("dame") version. That's the version pictured in my post above. If your mod. 92 is longer than 235mm it's the standard mod. 92 saddle.

Did you check this? Not a lot of info there though. That's a pretty sweet looking stool by the way.

The saddle is not high end, as nearly as I can tell, and is stretched considerably.

Both of the above factors will help to lower value. My guess is it will bring less than $50.00 on Ebay, if that. Generally, it is my practice to not buy leather saddles from on-line sources, such as Ebay. Pictures of suspended leather saddles can be miserably misleading, in my opinion.

Though I do not mean to discourage you from sharing vintage bicycle parts, some things are almost not worth the Ebay effort, these days.

BTW. Looking for a model 92 for my Gitane if anyone has one and would part with it for less than my first born.

I have a Model 80 (with black rails) on my 1951 CCM although the saddle is newer than the bike... it is double stamped on the side with Ideale within a circle, has an additional imprint toward the nose, and has 3 holes in the top.

I am no Ideale expert by any means, and perhaps the differences between models is very subtle, but the OP’s saddle looks very similar to this model 90 to me.
