Bikes: 1986 Cannondale SR300 (full SRAM Apex) 1996 Cannondale R800 (Full SRAM Rival), 1997 Cannondale R200 (Shimano Tiagra), 2012 Cannondale CAAD 10-5, 1992 Bridgestone RB-1 (SRAM Force)
Which components on which frame?
Sorry, no pictures, just bear with me.
I have two black C-dale frames. a 1986 and a 1996 (2.8) both carbon forks and threadless headsets and two groupsets:
In your opinion, which one gets the SRAM Rival and which gets the 2300 / Sora?

Just want to say, be patient, someone's eventually gonna give you a suggestion,.......... it just.....the bike frames aren't steel and.......the components don't sound C&V enough.......

Neither for the '86 since you may not be able to use 8+ speed wheels in it. a Sram group may be nice on my Rossin though

No. 128.8 rear spacing. . . a 130mm wheel slips in quite easily, actually on the '86.
The one with the SRAM gets posted in the STI or Ergos thread. I WAS inntending to the the SRAM on the older one, but. . .
Leaning towards the new on the new. . . but it wouldn't be as wow.

Bikes: I used to have many. And I Will again.
2.8 has the rep of being the ultimate Cannondale USA aluminum frameset. So stiff it'll beat you like a red-headed stepchild.
So, put the new SRAM stuff on it and go pick a fight with some CF riders.
Sora works, but it's a wall flower group, plain Jane. The 8 speed is still an upgrade for the '86, and will still look like a vintage update and get the attention you expect. Same goes for the 2.8 plus Rival.
