That Mooney is truly exquisite with the hammered Luxor lamps and Honjo mudguards. I am in awe of that bike! WOW!

Mr. Berg happens to have one of my favorite blogs as well:

Plenty of eye candy, and be sure to check out his Galmozzi project.

What a treasure!

You might want to try this link too. I'm kind of between splitting and merging blogs.

I realize this may sound silly and even a bit pretentious, but the Mooney is even more stunning in person. It was all chrome when I got it. It was rough on the lower part of the triangle and I just couldn't get it acceptable (at least to my anal eyes), so i had just the triangle painted. I saw a frame that Curt Goodrich had painted that smoky green color and he gave me some freebie paint, which Chris Kvale sprayed after I did some of the masking.

I like the way the bikes are set up. Cable lengths, bar angles and brake lever positions look just right to my eyes.

I have a McLean, too. I think it's a 1982. I had it repainted in 1991, so it's blank now. It's not very light, unfortunately, but I love it.

The guy who goes by the name norskagent here on bikeforums has one, too.

The weight is probably typical for a fine bike of the day, maybe 21 pounds? about five pounds more than a high end modern bike, although I suppose a big percentage of that is the components. As I am probably 50 pounds overweight, it's an insignificant to amount to me. On the other hand the Peter Mooney, even stripped down, is a damned boat anchor.

I met Peter at the Philly Bike Expo and chatted with him quite a while. One of his display frames had some gears turning in my head for a little while, but after I did the math I figured that I'd just have to wait... He has a great eye and his hand cut lugs are second to none, but that one in your collection even without the fancier lugs is a real head turner atmo.
